Set in the village of Roslin, The Original Rosslyn Inn is an idyllic village inn, just 8 miles from Edinburgh’s city centre. This family-run property has a traditional pub and a fine dining restaurant.

The staff went above expectations to insure we had a great stay. Restaurant was exceptional. Neighborhood Lounge and bar was on premise. Bus stop at hotel entrance. Loved the thick walls and breakfast room decor. But the staff is what makes this an excellent place to stay. Location is about twelve miles out of Edinburgh and is in walking distance to Roslyn Chapel.

The stay in the actual castle was amazing. The breakfast was top notch and the food overall was of high quality and decent portion sizes. The spa facilities were ok and the stone massage was so relaxing. The fact that you could use the spa facilities everyday of your stay for 90 minutes was a great idea. The grounds the castle is situated in are spectacular, secluded and quiet. Even though the nearest villages are only a mile away it definitely felt like you were getting away from it all

We liked it so much because obviously it was a very old castle and it was so Grande and mystique, and has so much history dating back 800 years , it was finished to the highest standards also , plus it was so quiet which was great also .

A wonderful historic castle steeped in Scottish history as well as that of the English. Awe-inspiring to look at and you can feel the history as you walk through its halls and dungeons. It is surrounded by rivers, forests, hills, and mountains. Room service was superb and breakfast was delicious. We were unbale to eat in the restaurant on a Monday night because it was fully booked, which says something about the quality of the food. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and will re-visit very soon. Highly recommended.

Arrived at this stunning venue in a great location. Looked as a castle should look. Inside was original looking decor, not modernised - great pictures, panelled walls, chandeliers etc

The room was located in the lodge. It was very spacious with a separate lounge and big bathroom. Although a bit tired the room was a great size and lovely and quiet.

A real castle in lovely grounds with some beautiful walks down by the river and through the woods. Well organised reception and excellent breakfast. We were in the Lodge which is a little way away from the main castle in a lovely quiet spot. Not quite as posh as the castle itself but well equipped rooms and nice garden.
