We loved the Botanic Gardens and the Zoo, bonus it was free and clean. Riverside cultural district was a bit dissapointing, nice enough but nothing to do apart from walk through it, we did some of it but better off walking up the top along Quay Street to take in the lovely old buildings. Mt Archer skywalk was awesome, such a lovely view back over Rockhampton from up there. We also did the Capricorn Caves, it's a must see when in the area that's for sure! Yeppoon and the Keppel Coast was beautiful but we needed more time spent over there..next visit hey!

Rockhampton is a great place to visit, it has so much to offer no matter what You are looking for. Plenty of restaurants that cater to pretty much any cuisine You like. We have been to Rockhampton many times.

We have been to Rockhampton many times. There is an awesome Botanical Gardens/Zoo in Rockhampton. The riverfront historical buildings are interesting and the waterfront Criterion is a great family pub with excellent food. The Mt. Archer Lookout and walking trails are a must visit. The shopping and markets in Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Emu Park are terrific. Emu Park, Yeppoon, and The Caves are also must visit. When you arrive, visit the Rockhampton Tourist Information Centre as there are a lot of other things to see and do in Rockhampton itself.

Our trip was a two and half day to Cairns which then didn't leave us any touring time. When it came to food my only advice, stay away from servo's not an option we will recommend. When searching good food/diners in Rockhampton remember to do your research because we ended buying local take-away and eating back in our motel room, VERY SAD & NOT SATISFYING.

Excellent location, very convenient having the Tavern and other food options close by with gate access to the motel. We ate at the Tavern and the food was delicious. Staff were excellent, when we checked in the lady also booked us in to the Tavern and advised when it was best to go. If you are staying at Rockhamption while travelling north I would recommend staying here, the location is quieter than the majority of hotels on the main drag and it will shorten your trip if visiting the caves.

CBD Apartments are a small block of apartments on a relatively busy street in Rockhampton. Our one-bedroom apartment had been refurbished with Miele appliances, a washing machine/drier and reasonably comfortable bed and furniture. The overall decor and lighting is a little dated, though quite adequate, and clean. It was fine for us for a night, and the extra space would be handy for people working from the unit on business trips.

room / bed / bathroom OK - room would be fine if I was there for work on my own, no worries. I was disappointed though as it wasn't nicely appointed as per photos in advertisement - and I was travelling with my wife (we were married in Rockhampton, with Reception at Centrepoint 17 years ago) and so I wanted a nice room. ...the last photo with the nice bed spread and timber furniture is what was advertised...

An 1890's hotel with a "grand staircase" -- all restored to really good condition and right on the river in historic downtown. Very good restaurant and "drinking saloon" on 1st floor, with some old time favorites like meat balls over mashed potatoes with gravy, as well as steak, etc. Exceptional value for the money, I thought.

We stayed in a cabin and thought it was very good budget accommodation. The location for us was great as we were able to walk to the Criterion Hotel for dinner and didn't need to take our car. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us. We stayed for 1 night as a stopover heading north.
