Perfect location. Breakfast exceeded expectations.
Suite was very well set up and comfortable, well designed. Appreciated and used the iron & ironing board. Grateful for dishes, dish soap, tea towels.
Although we could hear people in the hallways, once in their rooms all was very quiet. Either design or insulation helped with this a lot!

Everything - Ash and his lovely wife welcomed me into their home (always responsive & available in case I needed anything). Very kind and ready to help. It was indeed a home away from home.
The basement has its own private entrance. It is equipped with all the essentials and in a very quiet neighbourhood.
It has a good WiFi and its own laundry room. The room size is great (can take 2 people) with its own cabinet.
Everything was clean when I arrived.

Welcome reception was good. Breakfast was great also. It's probably one of the best breakfasts. I have had a hotel in a long time. My only recommendation would be to add Turkey sausage for people who don't eat pork. (Me)

At least at the bus stop the bus numbers, so it is clear that the passenger is standing at the right bus stop. It is really confusing and unclear. Check-in was a nightmare.
Check-in was a nightmare. Inexperienced staff who said we didn't have a reservation even though we booked and paid for two rooms through booking.com and had the reservation number. We had to pay for two more rooms to stay overnight. Now with booking.com helping we are trying to get a refund for the extra rooms we paid for. Nothing was good. Left early. Not clean. No fresh linen, sleeping in the last persons sheets. Slept on hide a bed, you could feel the springs. Transferred to another property, overbooked!!! I like Whitby and the destination was right by the go train so we could go to a concert in Toronto. It was the hotel that was bad avoid motel 6. I was not expecting the Royal York for the money we paid but I did expect cleanliness.

This building was terrible.
This building was terrible. Requested an early check in amd found out upon arrival that our room wasn't ready. Told we were being upgraded to a nicer room. The room we were given was disgusting. No water pressure. Tub drain was rotting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned out in months. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. The hallways were cluttered with rolls of baseboard trim. Plus, the entire building smelled like cigarette smoke. Do not recommend.BeckiCanada

Clean and no concerns. The closet was huge. They had a coffee pot, toaster, and microwave. We felt safe with the lock system. The owners assisted us with their streaming channels. They had an iron and ironing board. The fireplace was easy to use on cold evenings. Entrance to accommodation was well lite.

As a couple we don't live alone at the moment so this is an amazing suite to be on our own for a few days and enjoy the time alone. We also love that we were able to plug in a HDMI port and stream our movies from the laptop. We haven't encountered a hotel that let us do that yet. Lots of parking. The hotel is also located conveniently close to the highway but far enough away to avoid all of the related noise. And the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.
