Staff were fantastic and very attentive / helpful and sympathetic. The place itself is just wonderful: Nice design, super clean, very private, especially once the day guests are gone. Food is also very good.

The staff was simply amazing; extremely welcoming, warm, friendly and fun! The also have a dive center at the premises, which made it very comfortable to organize some dives during our stay there; the diving team was equally helpful and friendly. The accommodation (as described) is very rustic and spartan. But if you are fine with that, then I would recommend this place and the island in general for a typical Colombian Caribbean experience :)
Rosario EcoHotel features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Isla Grande. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace, and outdoor patio dining area.

We were overwhelmingly grateful and delighted with our stay at the EcoHotel. Our visit was nothing short of extraordinary. What stood out the most was the exceptional service, particularly from Lau and Caro. Moreover, the prices are very reasonable, and they offer a delicious menu (make sure to try the "cazuela de mariscos"). From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly special. They upgraded our room at no extra cost and were very attentive to our needs.
A highlight for us was celebrating my sister's birthday during our stay. The hotel graciously treated us to a cocktail and some pancakes for the occasion, a gesture that was greatly appreciated. Without a doubt, we wholeheartedly recommend this place. It's a beautiful spot with an extraordinary view. Lastly, we highly recommend the bioluminescence tour!
Sincerely,
Mr. C

Some of the staff were beyond amazing, others were dreadful. The best were so attentive to guests, too bad the guy controlling the music doesn't think guests were sleeping when he blasted the music. And, they played music the staff liked, very vulgar and offensive music the guests didn't appreciate and told him to turn it off.

The trip is too long, you go with a fast boat that is not comfortable at all. High speed, jumping the waves, it gave me a headache once we arraigned to Cartagena from isla grande.
I think the island is not worth it, I recommend instead a full day excursion to baru from Cartagena.

Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe. The hotel was full of really lovely interesting guests and the staff were really welcoming and attentive.
We loved our stay there as quiet interlude to the fast pace of Cartagena.
If you're looking for party vibe then Coralina is not for you (head to Bora Bora). If you're looking for beautiful island shabby-chic luxury then Coralina is perfect.

Incredible place to rest, away from the tiresome sellspeople that crowd Playa Blanca and Barú offering from massages to wrist bands. Here you can actually REST, and do whatever you want to do, snorkeling, kayaking reading. Even work, if you must, the wifi connection was great at the hostel we stayed.
You can easily walk the island or do a round trip vía Kayak (3-4 hours aprox). The Mangle are really beautiful and that's a nice tour to have. The little village of Orika (1500 ppl) is really nice and peple are very kind with tourists. There were 2-3 restaurants that I can remember, but none looked tempting so we stayed with the Hostel restaurant for health sake. No need to improvise. :)
It's a small island perfect for introspection and sea sports as mentioned before. I'd say it's a mandatory visit if you go to Cartagena (hey, you can even sacrifice Playa Blanca without loosing too much, if you must prune a few days of your stay), but definitely try to visit the island. We travelled with 3 kids aged 16, 13 and 12. and 3 nights at the hostel hit the spot for them. More would have been a little too much for them.

This is the furthest island and honestly there’s nothing to do here. Specifically at this hotel, there was only two lawn chairs where the sun actually reached and the rest were always in the shade. And the two that were in sun were always occupied. The one time we did get to sit in them, the dock it’s on was not sturdy or secure. In fact the board under the chair broke as my friend was laying in it!! And the chair leg went towards the water.
The hotel itself had no beach so you had to walk 20 minutes to get there and it was not easily accessible by any means. All the other beaches were private and you had to pay for.
They offered theee excursions - I can’t speak to one. But the other two were scams.

It felt really remote but with everything you needed (be prepared, no A/C.
The Caipirinhas are FANTASTIC how they make them.
Kayaks pull up with cocktails from outside vendors. Adds a fun element.
Most nights they offered something to do after the day trippers left.

This is an island that is completely run for the profits of...
This is an island that is completely run for the profits of the beach resorts who cater almost exclusively to the day-trippers from Cartagena. This means that if you are not in one of these resorts your access to much of the island is restricted. For the most part, there are no evident access points into the interior of the island from these resorts and we found ourselves entering through service entrances to try to get the coast, or a bar and were often found trespassing. Some of these resorts are more welcoming than others and some charge an entry fee for non-guests. However, many of these resorts don't seem to have overnight guests and, therefore, shut up shop after 4pm so there is little-to-no evening activity on the island (and no street lights, so make sure to have a torch with you)
There are some fun and interesting activities to do on the island - enough to fill a day, but the limited access when staying there meant that we were very ready to leave after two nights.
The room was immaculately clean, super-super clean.
The bedding, towels all were new.
The host was absolutely amazing, kind, and helpful.
The food was made from scratch and delicious (the breakfast was included, and we ordered dinner) - traditional homemade Colombian food.
It was an unforgettable trip to ISLA GRANDE. We spent a weekend like locals and saw the life of the island from the inside. We met many wonderful citizens of the island that are very kind and always ready to help.
Make sure you can speak at least basic Spanish.
This is a very basic accomodation.
It is an Eco Hotel which is run by a local couple - Folbert and Ingrid.
They are fabulous hosts.
Ingrid always with a smile, makes exceptional diversified meals.
Folbert is a real master for whatever goes on on the Island. We booked all of our tours with him personally, he took us on full day tours to hidden place amoung the islands at very reasonable prices.
It was a very authentic experience. It makes no sense to spend time on the Islands in a luxury resort. It really misses the point
the staff was INCREDIBLE. they really made us feel so special and took care of us to make sure we were having a great time! it’s rare to find a place that so deeply and genuinely cares about their guests. we booked some excursions through the hotel, and their in-house guide Tomas took us personally on his boat to go snorkeling and swimming at the enchanted lagoon. it was so incredibly personal and special! the view from our cabin was also stunning, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. we hope to come back!
The location on Isla Grande is really gorgeous, the staff is phenomenal. Everyone was really friendly and helped us with any questions we had. The dining staff made my husband's birthday dinner very special! The room was extremely clean. The pool is really refreshing, and the bar offers great drinks. I liked the hammocks sprinkled all over the property, and the daybeds on the waterfront. We loved visiting the Enchanted Lagoon (accessible across a rather adventurous "bridge" over the mangroves).
The staff here are AMAZING. It is an incredibly well-run hotel. The manager, Alex, went above and beyond. Thank you again!!! Excellent food and drinks (which you will not find at other places). Beautiful location and rooms. The cabana named "Sonya" is definitely worth booking. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are going to the Islas. They have a ferry that goes directly from Cartagena to the Island and it makes everything very seamless.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Location was great, even though there is not much sand beach, swimming from the dock was great!
Lots of shady lounge chairs.
Area was kept clean.
Welcome drink was a nice touch.
Breakfast was good.
You could pay to refill your water bottle as they don't sell plastic bottles of water.
You could use the kayaks for free.
Nice quiet hotel, there are some party hotels around but this wasn't one of them.
The hotel grounds are lovely and the family and caretakers were always ready to help us with any needs. The food was good, and the parrot was a fun companion! We decided to stay 2 extra nights and were upgraded into a lovely room (Casa Grande) with hammocks on the terrace. The location is a short walk from several beaches (Playita, Playa LIbre, Playa Tranquila), but be prepared for a hot and dusty walk home.
The owner of the hotel, the French-Colombian named Pierre, is a wonderful person. Thanks to him, his kind nature and willingness, we felt like we were visiting a good friend or family member. Warning to all those who love the ubiquitous and annoying Colombian music - no music is allowed in any part of Coralina Island! You will enjoy the silence, the sound of sea waves and the chirping of birds.
A very quaint and lovely place to stay at when visiting Isla Grande. We loved how quiet it was but also how easy it was to reach the main beaches we wanted to visit. The staff is really kind and accommodating. The lodge is simple but very nice and clean and it gave us this authentic island feel we were looking for. We definitely recommend it.
Location, cleanliness, price, vibe. Activities were excellent and reasonably priced. But the snorkeling is even better 100 meters directly in front of the hotel than the excursion. Just rent the kayak and go out there yourself, I also recommend avoiding the weekend, if possible. There is loud music from neighboring properties.
The location is fantastic, because the hotel has only a few rooms it gets really quiet at night and you can really get a nice feel for the area. The tours we did were with three other people so we could snorkel as long as we like. We especially loved seeing the plankton at night.
Very nice hotel, not as crowded as others in the island. Nice and accommodating staff.
Good size room and clean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included as well as beverages for these meals.
The prices for the a la carte menu were fair and not overly expensive.
Wifi worked fine
Fantastic place to stay whilst exploring isla grande. Beach is just a few minutes walk, staff were super helpful. We booked a plankton tour and snorkel tour with them. Food was excellent, and had a fun time hanging out with other guests
- Wi Fi all day
- Breakfast
- Beautiful beaches nearby
Tip: Go to a day using in Hotel Gente Del Mar (10 minutes walking) or go to the private beach/restaurant in Hotel San Pedro de Majagua (2 minutes walking)
Wonderful Eco hotel located in a great area of Isla Grande. The staff are so lovely and helpful and the rooms are extra large with a huge bed and clean. Highly recommend the property!
