Goslar is amazing. Mining history over 1000 years old, lots of churches from around 1100, a dames' convent, city walls, market place with ancient town hall (WC and Bratwurst takeaway next door, can't have it all). When medieval taxes used to be paid in victuals, the Kaisers roamed through the country to eat up the tithes, and Goslar has the Pfalz for that rebuilt in the 19th c. Pedestrianised with plenty of eateries. The countryside is even better, walking, langlauf skiing, pre-industrial heritage trails along the 120 lakes of the Harz mountains whose waterpower drove the silver mines' lift and ventilation system. The deadly inner German cold war border - barbed wire, dog runs, watchtowers - used to run through this area.

With its historic silver mine and timbered buildings it could have been the
setting for Snow White. Nonetheless it has modern shops and a lively atmosphere. Walking the old streets is a delight but there is also a forest on a mountain to encourage longer excursions,
Driving there is no doubt easy; we found travelling by train from Berlin was also convenient.
It was no surprise to see so many people taking photographs; the tourist office has splendid postcards too.

The old town square is the highlight among many!
The old town square is the highlight among many! There are literally hundreds of really old medieval and impressive buildings to admire. We took a morning guided tour of the town centre, booked on the day through the Tourist Information Centre, which was well worth the fee because you get an expert explanation of many features and buildings which you might otherwise not appreciate. We visited the Imperial Palace but there's not so much to see and the guide spoke only German which might be a problem for those who don't speak the language.
Dining possibilities in and around the town square are many and varied. Whilst there, don't miss the carillon/ Glockenspiel at the bottom of the square.
we were group of 6 friends travelling from Hamburg to visit Goslar and Harz national Park. We were in contact with Osso. He warmly greeted us and introduced us our place. He was always available through WhatsApp all the time. In the evening we asked for wine opener and he provided us shortly. Very nice and smooth communication.
The property is just a stepstone from city center. It is shining clean with all you need to cook and relax with some friends or family. We are very happy with our stay and definitely recommend it to anyone.
This is a smallish, old-fashioned (in the best sense of the word!) hotel, within walking-distance of both railway-station and Altstadt. The staff were (when they were present) very friendly and obliging. Our room was unusually spacious and certainly clean. Although we overlooked a courtyard we were not disturbed by noise. The price of the room was also very reasonable, and included an excellent breakfast-buffet served in very grand surroundings: a most magnificent, medieval-themed, banqueting room!
Very friendly proprietor. Room had plenty of space and was comfortable. The breakfast was well prepared and served. They were responsive to our likes. Historic property right in the middle of this amazingly historic and pretty city. It was a very short walk to everything. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Goslar. We appreciated the private parking on the property. The room was cleaned and serviced promptly daily.
This apartment is wonderful, it’s in a great location a short stroll to the center of town and within walking distance to the train station.
It’s exactly as shown in the pictures. Everything is newly renovated, it’s tastefully appointed with a comfortable bed, 2 large smart TV’s and all new appliances.
The host is super responsive and helpful.
I highly recommend staying here when visiting Goslar!
The hotel is very well located: it is in a wooded area with a forest atmosphere, and at the same time very close to the historic center of the beautiful city of Goslar. The decor is very fun and original. The room and bathroom are really very spacious. The breakfast is exceptional. It is not a luxury hotel, but it met my expectations perfectly. I would definitely come back.
+ Outstanding breakfast, many home-made varieties of bread; imaginative flavors; one of the best breakfast experiences I've ever had while traveling
+ Tranquil and safe location with a garden
+ Warm-toned rooms that feel like someone's home, not cold and modern like most hotels
+ Lots of parking spaces
+ Proximity to bus stop for getting to the city center
Location ( very close to the train station and to the city), carpets on stairs (acoustic measure), butter machine in the breakfast room and great staff (10 of 10). They managed to clean my shirt for the next conference day. Fantastic catering during the conference. No technical sounds in the hotel room - this is highly appreciated.
We have stayed here before and will continue to stay here when we go to Goslar. We had an apartment this journey and it fit our needs perfectly. We had plenty of room for three people. The kitchen was equipped so we could have our own breakfast. The cleaning staff were lovely. Cant say enough good things. Highly recommend
Nice room. Good shower. Good breakfast , very central, right by the station and lovely pool ( though a little cold) but the jacuzzi was great though. All in all great hotel. It has a restaurant too. Goslar is a really nice town with lots of old buildings. Really loved the hotel :)
The hotel is in a 500-year-old building; you can feel the history. The interiors are updated to modern comfort levels. The location cannot be better for seeing the important sites in Goslar. The breakfasts are excellent. The people are friendly. The price was very reasonable.
The rooms are big and clean, the stuff is very nice and welcoming, WiFi works great, breakfest is excellent and tasty with a wide variaty of food selection.
Location is a few minutes walk from the town center and a good starting point to travel the Harz region.
The service was very good, with the hotel being available on the phone easily and even reaching out to us as we arrived late. I would certainyl recommend the breakfast as well, as it is a lot of good stuff for a small extra charge.
The Hotel is in a great location in the heart of the Town. The Hotel itself is steeped in history and our room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was really very good and the Hotel staff helpful and friendly
The place is only minutes of walking away from the magnificent historic center of Goslar, although it is itself located in a very quiet neighborhood. We appreciated the warm welcome of the very helpful host.
It is a dream location in an old street of Goslar, just in the center. The house is huge, very well equipped, dog friendly and comfortable. The host was very helpful and quick to reply.
Very clean spacious apartment right in the centre of town. The host was very friendly and easy to reach. Goslar is really beautiful, would highly recommend.
