We had a very spacious, comfortable room (we were fortunate to be upgraded). The staff were very helpful. We ate at the restaurant for dinner (due to the location that was the easiest option), and the food was very good. It was nice to stay close to Cuenca, but away from the tight old town area.

This hotel is one of the most central hotels in the appealing city of Cuenca, offering its guests with a top-floor terrace boasting stunning views of the charming medieval old town.
Location, rooms were excellent, breakfast was lovely
The fortressed town of Cuenca is a hidden gem in the province of Castilla La Mancha and is a popular destination for tourists visiting Madrid or Valencia.
Cuenca is best represented in its medieval old town as well as the unique Hanging Houses (Las Casas Colgadas) which stand aloft on one of the deep canyons surrounding the city, and show a prime example of the common housing of 15th-century Cuenca.
Upon visiting the Old Town you will be welcomed by the remains of an ancient Arab fortress, El Castillo along with the chiming bells of Mangana Tower.
There is a variety of art galleries and restaurants which are situated in the newer side of town, whilst popular places to see are the Cuenca Cathedral, Museum of Spanish Abstract Art and the Archaeological Museum.
Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options near landmarks such as Cuenca train station and Parque de San Julián.

Such an unusual and interesting, old town with plenty of cobbled streets to explore. The museum showing finds through the ages was worth visiting. The highest point of the town has great views across the gorges and some great cafes. The hanging houses are insanely tall.

Cuenca old town is a must in any Spain trip.
Cuenca old town is a must in any Spain trip. We were so fortunate to experience Holy Week festivities and to share with the locals. In addition, we experience intermittent snow which was a wonderful experience. The old town is a jewel with many options to get lost through the streets and to meet locals.

I like to see old historic cities ...even if the "glory days" are over. Cuenca does not disappoint on this count. The cathedral is a magnificent example of this as it is beautifully decorated in parts and equally shows evidence of being somewhat dilapidated structurally..in certain parts.
The "hanging house' theme is a little overworked but it is still very interesting to see what is left of them.
It's sheer geographical location is what surprised me most. The public transport system up and down between the new and old town is very efficient.
I stayed 2 nights...I could easily have stayed 3 to have 2 full days to explore a little more...assuming you can manage the walking...it is rarely flat...you are either climbing or descending usually and it's often quite steep!
I ate at the Piola Gastrobar, which shares the building with the Hotel Convento just up from the main Plaza Mayor. An excellent restaurant in my opinion.

Absolutely wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was excellent.Dining room was nice, but why would anyone eat there when they will serve you in the beautiful courtyard by the fountain! Pool area is nice, and staffed with a lifeguard. Helpful hint: request a room with a bridge view. We did, and it was gorgeous.

Beautiful historic buildings in stunning scenery.
Beautiful historic buildings in stunning scenery.
Lovely walks especially along river.
Everything in old town close together with regular bus service for other parts of town.
Free parking in Castle area.
Beautiful apartment, stunning views! Above expectations! Location is wonderful in the heart of old Town, 5 minutes or less from bars and restaurants. Very clean, all new renovated with modern design. Bed was very comfortable, shower - the best I had in last few years of travel.
Towels and linens are soft, feels like new and spotlessly clean. The view from the terrace cannot be described in words. Sunrise can be practically seen from the bed.
Kitchen was well equipped.
It was really one of the best facilities that I have rated and stayed in.
Views! Great bathroom! Balcony terrace!
I had read other reviews and knew that I had to pick up the keys at the hotel across the street. The hotel receptionist was very nice, and he even provided us with extra bread for our second day there (we had just ordered 1 breakfast beforehand). There was free parking up the hill about a 5 minute walk away. I think it's best to drive down in front of the place and drop off luggage before parking, or you can pay for parking nearer by.
Free street parking right out the front. The hotel was very clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The host, Flora, was the most helpful and friendly host I've ever met. She downloaded a translation app so she could communicate with us and not only provided us with local attraction tips but also suggested tourist attractions on the way from Cuenca to Madrid. A great value stay in a beautiful, not to be missed, town.
The location was ideal, the views were amazing, and the property was just what we needed. The hosts were warm and welcoming, using a map to explain the points of interest of Cuenca, and answering any doubts and questions we had. When we come back to Cuenca, we'll defenitely look to stay here again.
The property is excellent. Perfect location on main commercial street and you are close to the old town, cafes, supermarket and restaurants. I’ve stayed in many places in Cuenca but this was the best. My host, Victoria, was impeccable, cordial, friendly and helpful. It was perfect in many ways.
We stayed at several Paradors during this trip and the Parador de Cuenca was by far the best. The Parador just exuded tranquility as soon as you enter. Every memeber of staff was helful. customer focussesd and efficient. The room was beautiful. We loved its location too, so near the old city.
Very comfortable apartment with everything you need. They even had some breakfast foods and snacks, milk and orange juice. Very thoughtful. We got a great restaurant recommendation, but beware Americans, most places don't start serving dinner until 9 PM. Great stay and loved Cuenca!
This apartment had all the luxuries of home. Extremely well appointed in a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to most major places of interest. A very lovely apartment with an extremely helpful host.
Cuenca is a phenomenal city and very close by train to Madrid.
- Nice clean room and bathroom: modern and comfortable
- very helpful staff
- excellent breakfast
- very good location: 2.15eur/person bus from train station or 10eur per taxi, also 15 minutes walk to city center
- everything you would expect from a 4 stars hotel
Excellent location - and what a fabulous town Cuenca is. Underground carpark is 100m away. €14 with hotel discount. This is an old building - with character. Staff showed me the walking route to the main square on the hilltop.
The property is in an excellent location. The room was small, like most rooms in European hotels, but it was clean and adequate. The breakfast was fantastic. The town of Cuenca was very interesting and well worth the visit.
The apartment was right in the heart of the old city of Cuenca. It had a lovely atmosphere and it was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The owner was very responsive and gave useful detailed instructions.

All new and clean! Just as the pictures. A lot of room to stay with family in the old town. Parking close and a discount from the hotel. Nice restaurant around.
