Good sized room with excellent facilities. Staff were helpful, On site parking was very handy and ability to have a coffee vand pastry for breakfast rather than a full scale breakfast was welcome

I went to Sopelana to surf and didn't explore the town much.
I went to Sopelana to surf and didn't explore the town much. It didn't seem like there was too much to the town anyways but it seems quaint and nice. It's right on the main metro line making it very easy to access from Bilbao. The beaches are very beautiful with unique rock formations and stunning views. When there are waves it is not really a swimming beach but they are great for surfing. Lots of rental options available. It's definitely a beautiful stop when exploring the Basque coast but could easily be a day trip from Bilbao.

A great place just 40 minutes by metro from the center of Bilbao. I was really happy that I stayed in Sopelana and not Bilbao, 'cause seeing the ocean every day was a great pleasure. Also, Sopelana is a great place for surfing.

Sopelana is a perfect location for everyone but especially for families with small children as it has beautiful well-equipped playgrounds and is a very quiet location.
Sopelana also has efficient connections such as the metro to reach Bilbao or the bus to reach the beach. Also great for bike rides with its beautiful cycle paths.
Beautiful beach suitable for everyone and fantastic for surfers
Very beautiful facilities - clean, comfortable and relaxed with a more upscale feel than a traditional hostel, which is reflected in the higher price. The private rooms are like a chill hotel experience and the shared rooms are good too, no curtains on the beds though (I stayed in both). The hostel is very close to the beaches, there are yoga classes and skateboard facilities available too! Easy to get to from public transport and great staff. Delicious food available in the restaurant.
The room and the house are very comfortable, cosy, cute and immaculate clean. And mostly the host Anabel is a great host. She makes you feel welcome, she is friendly and attentive. I got sick the last day of my stay and she allowed to stay longer than the check out time without extra charge, also offered me some medicine. I will never forget her kindness.
Sopelana is very nice, quite town, with a nice beach and hiking route along the cliff.
perfectly situated, surf spots Meniakoz, Sito, Sopelana, La Triangular within 10mins walk, 2mins walk to bus to Sopelana (every 30mins) to underground to Bilbao (takes 20mins for bus + 35mins for underground)
very quiet, could hear the sea
Pedro came in the evening when our flight was 2 hours delayed, we could store the surfboard in the garage
Pedros wife and daughter keep the flat very clean, two bathrooms with warm water
Really a hidden gem within walking distance from a very nice beach and 20min by metro from centre of Bilbao
The property is immaculate and the hosts Luis and Silvia were absolutely a bless. Luis gave us lots of detailed information about Sopelana and Bilbao: what is worth visiting , where to eat , How to get there, etc
They even brought a box of local sweets for the children in the last evening. Many thanks
The hotel is located near the beach, but a considerable distance from the town of Sopelana. However, the hotel has a bar that does pinxos and there is a beach bar as well as an upmarket restaurant nearby. That's about it.
Free parking was useful, as it's a problem around the hotel.
The location is amazing! Just a few minutes away from the beautiful Sopelana beach, a nice cafe, and all the surf schools. The staff also let me check out a bit late and proposed to keep my baggage if I wanted to take a walk or something.
The hotel and surrounding area is much nicer than the rooms. Close to two beaches with beautiful waves. Good breakfast selection including vegetarian and vegan options. Easily reachable from Bilbao via metro!
Very helpful people at the hotel, comfortable bed, nice and clean room and bathroom. Location at the coast is brilliant. Restaurants and bars on walking distance.
