Nicolas and his wife were extremely helpful and kind. They kept good communications with me and made sure I had a pleasant stay. The property was very clean and in a beautiful spot near the river and close to the village center. I am very grateful to them both for making that the best part of my whole trip to Paris.

Interesting place that we spent a very short amount of time in - a day is perfectly enough - learning about Van Gogh. Nice walking trail to see the important Van Gogh places of interest….he basically spent the last 2 months of his life here, including ending his life in a restaurant/lodging in the town (which you can visit/eat in but check opening days/times). Castle was closed (we were late!) but pretty enough to look at from the outside. Lots of nice restaurants, including a good Chinese!

Small town, easy to navigate and walk around. Lots of places to eat/drink. If you are interested in the life of Vincent Van Gogh there is enough here to occupy you for a day. Set in beautiful countryside with opportunities for walking/cycling.

This is a beautiful and welcoming accommodation in a beautiful and historic village. It is 20/30mins walk into the centre and uphill on the way back so not suitable for everyone. we loved the serenity of the location, the beauty of the house and the friendliness of our hosts. the breakfast was delicious. they had a huge friendly dog - Lucien - who is adorable.

The village is strongly associated with Impressionist Painters, esp the last few months of the life of Vincent Van Gogh. You can see places he painted and there is a new modern hi-tech exhibition about him in the chateau. Several foot trails around the village following the steps of the artists which are fun. Van Gogh and his brother are both buried in the local cemetery. We ate at an excellent Tunisian and Italian restaurant - nothing French!

    What a beautiful place!

What a beautiful place! To visit all the places where Van Gogh had stayed and places where he had painted was excellent. Listening to the corn rustling in the breeze and watching the crows flying over where he painted transported you back in time. We visited a family run café which had a very rustic feel to it and found the owner and her friend were very proud of the history there and loved sharing their stories with us. We will definitely be returning.
