We stayed in the La Maison rooms, which are a short walk from the main hotel. The hotel in perfectly located near Place D' Quebec for D-day and Mont St. Michel tour meeting place. The breakfast was standard European hotel breakfast, nothing special. It was warm and plentiful. The coffee from a machine was good, not great. We arrived before our room was ready so they kept our luggage in reception, and it was in out room when we checked in. Thank You.

The city is beautiful and easy to get around in by foot. We enjoyed seeing the Cathedral and The Tapestry as well as a couple restaurants and an awesome pastry shop.
Taxi service is limited (allow plenty of time to await a taxi). Uber service did not exist.

Bayeux is a lovely town and very central to all of the D Day beaches and many other interesting places related to WW2.
The town is not too big so a lot can be seen in a reasonable space of time.
The British memorial cemetery there is one of the most poignant I visited.

Loved this town because it's like going back in time, when people aren't in a hurry and take pride in their town and their food, culture, etc. Proud that they survivied WW2, and the importance to educating their children about it. Had a lovely tour about that. Went to great restaurants that our hotel Hotel D'Argouges recommended for us. Le Pommier and Le Volet Qui Penche!! Like to go back when it's warmer to see the beautiful flowers in bloom, we went 3/8, so I would like to go back in April sometime.
We stayed in room 1 of the Double Room - Orchard Extension Building, which is located in the back part of the property, with parking next to the building. The room was large with a king size bed. Nicely decorated. Very clean. A good breakfast. A quick walk to the Bayeux Tapestry and the Cathedral. We just spent a month traveling around France, and this was our favorite hotel room. We especially liked that we could see the evening Cathedral light show from our private patio.
Le Castle Guesthouse is centrally located, very close to all the major sites in Bayeux. Very comfortable beds, lots of space, 2 very comfortable ensuite bedrooms upstairs and one ensuite bedroom main floor. Lots of space for families of 4-6 people which is something of a rarity in France! Very friendly and helpful hosts/innkeeper. We had a wonderful stay there and wished we had stayed there longer - Bayeur is a fascinating city and the Guesthouse was very, very comfortable.
The location is central to all Bayeux landmarks. It is also very centrally located to Normandy. There are many restaurants within walking distance as well. The staff is incredibly professional and helpful. I truly cannot say enough about this hotel as it was the most perfect stay we have ever had anywhere! The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. I highly recommend Villa Lara if a person is visiting Bayeux and Normandy.
This was a great value. It is rated as a 2 Star, but it is better than many three and four stars I have stayed in. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train, 3 minutes to the cathedral, and 4 minutes to the Bayeux Tapestry. The restaurant on site is excellent. We ate there all three nights, it was one of the only restaurants open after 7:00 pm.
Very centrally located. Very tasteful and quality renovation of the comfortable interiors in a very old space with the unique citation as the "smallest house in France". Love the bathroom and bedroom. Very accomodating and helpful hostess who gave a nice history of the place and helpful suggestions on where to eat and shop.
Beautiful Chambre d’hotes, with the equally lovely Christine an excellent host. 20 minute stroll into Bayeux and all the many things it has to offer. Perfect location if touring the Normandy beaches as we were. So peaceful at the house, the map room was a real bonus. Christine put together a lovely breakfast. Just perfect!
A very clean and comfortable house. The location is excellent not only for exploring Bayeaux but other sites in Normandy such as the Landing Beaches. It is only a 10 minute walk into town centre so great for shopping and restaurants and there is a great Supermarket at the end of the road
Very central location, under 5 minutes walk to both the Bayeux tapestry museum and Bayeux cathedral, and walkable to the Battle of Normandy museum within 15 mins. Room was clean and sufficiently spacious with a view of the town hall and cathedral spire. Breakfast and dinner were good.
Everything in the hotel was run to perfection, the room is spacious and the ground is beautifully maintained and the location is only a short drive to the Normandy coast and all the historical D-day landing sites. Big private parking area with two electric charging points.
Very nice hotel in an excellent location, very clean rooms, excellent hosts. The second time my wife and I have stayed here, and I've already booked up for a September return to do a Normandy battlefield tour with my son.
Amazing hotel, very friendly staff and great location. Can't be better at this price point. The room was small but comfortable. Bayeux city centre is walkable and parking in the hotel is very convenient.
charming, convenient, fabulous gardens, gracious and efficient host, luscious and lovely breakfast a perfect lodging for the total Bayeux/ Normandy experience.
also has off street parking
The hotel is positioned perfectly in the town centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast selection was varied and good quality food. The pool area was nice and relaxing.
The host picked us up on time at the train station and dropped us off at the train station at the end of our visit to Bayeux, even though we ended up staying in a different hotel.
We were on a cycling holiday of the Normandy area. The hotel was very central to all the sights and even provided a secure room to store our bicycles in each night.
The hotel is close to the city. It was in a beautiful location. It's a bit far for those going to the Normandy beach, but it's pretty good about the hotel.
