The hotel is away from the main road, but close enough to be totally accessible to the good restaurants.
What I loved is the decor and the way they managed to pay homage to grand old hotels but keeping a modern touch. The decorative use of antiques is charming, especially the commode on the stairwell (a touch of irony?)
The deluxe room was very spacious & we will chose this for every stay in future given availability. The bed was comfortable with a perfectly firm mattress & good pillows.
The bar has a lovely ambience and the team make a perfect G&T.

The room was clean and in accordance with the description.
We had a room on the second floor, everything was as good.
Checking was through the machine in front of the main entrance, and the machine became functional after 14 h, when the check-in was foreseen.
We didn't use the restaurant in the morning, so I couldn't say anything about breakfast.

We ate at Family Pub which is a friendly, open-all-day spot. Calais is small and a pedestrian-perfect town. We hit it on a very windy weekend. We stayed at the Lighthouse Inn from booking.com. Claire was wonderful. She had valuable insight on places to eat. Her apartment is ultra clean and modern with all the latest tech with massive big beds. Plan to return.

We didn't stay long enough to be able to give a decent review of Calais, just 48 hours. We did really enjoy it and will happily return. There were a large selection of restaurants to choose from, some large, slightly out of town hypermarches, and some boulangeries that we enjoyed. We enjoyed Le Bleriot Beach, even in February. We visited Dunkirk and even crossed the border into De Panne in Belgium. We discovered that Calais is most definitely a place to visit in its own right, not just for a night before a ferry or a tunnel crossing.

Calais as been revamped, and a lot of money spent on the beach area. Good restaurants!! Especially one called the MOUTON BLANC!! Simple French cooking and cheap. This place could be a great family holiday. Great beaches and nice walks to do. Your not that far from Paris or Brussels with easy access to trains that Serve both capitals. Yes overall good place.

Calais is seen by many as just a convenient stopover to take the ferry and not as a destination in its own right. It may not have aesthetic attraction of nearby Boulogne sur Mer but there are things to see and do. Take a wander and see the stunning Calais Town Hall and tower . There is the famous Rodin sculpture The Burghers of Calais which is very impressive and the shopping , there is quite a good choice for restaurants and bars. Plus, very underrated is the sandy beach.

Usually travel through Calais but we were pleasantly surprised at finding some really interesting older places around the centre. We found a really lovely little family restaurant that was full of locals. Excellent food and service at a reasonable price with a great atmosphere. Certainly gave us an insight into Calais which was very favourable.
Finding such a large hotel in a side street was a surprise, like coming across an ocean liner in the fog. Being February it was empty, and quiet, though we could hear the people in the next room - the hotel and much of the neighbourhood was built in the 50s after Calais had been badly bombed in WW2, and construction methods have moved on. I liked it and it had an old fashioned charm. You could even take the (tiny) lift down to the garage in the basement.
The seafront location was great and we walked into the centre of Calais easily from the hotel. We booked breakfast when we arrived and a table for the evening as well. Both meals were very good value for money and there was a good selection for both the evening menu and breakfast. The free wifi was excellent and we streamed a film to our laptop with now break up of signal at all. Overall we were impressed for the price!
Virtually everything; great location, super value, superb breakfast
(automatic, orange juice making machine 🤗) and the assistance at the desk was excellent and much appreciated. Because traveling from Dover to Calais is such an easy way to go, I could easily imagine myself staying there again, and certainly will be recommending it to anyone going to Calais 100 out of 100. 💯
This apartment is in a strange neighbourhood but not far from the centre of Calais, very conveniently located in order to board Le Shuttle. There is a private car park underneath and access to a pool. The apartment is spacious and the beds are comfortable. There is a separate living room with kitchen facilities. Nice to relax after a long journey. Lots of shops nearby.
It was great to see the same receptionist again. We've used this hotel many times as it's so convenient for Eurotunnel, McDonalds and a superb boulangerie just a couple of minutes walk away. The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms more than adequate. My husband always enjoys being able to watch BBC telly! The car park is great. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Calais.
Nicely furnished, clean studio with well supplied kitchen. Futon style sofa bed was comfortable. Very close to the beach and free bus stops for getting around Calais. Anne and her husband are gracious hosts who gave us helpful sightseeing tips as well as many big and small extras during our stay, welcoming us like family. Delightful stay!
This was a perfectly pleasant stay. The room and hotel itself is a little on the tired side and it could all do with a makeover. It was comfortable and cheap though.
It was a little out of the city centre as well and as we were on our bikes we had locked them up so had a bit of a walk to have dinner.
For what we paid, it was fine.
Incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. Close to food and ground transportation. Most appetizing breakfast we recalled having at any B&B or hotel. We loved the friendly house cats, though that part is not for everyone. We enjoyed our sweet feline visitors. Plus our people hosts went above and beyond.
The rooms are perfectly decorated. They represent different stories about Calais. The hosts are lovely and they are very diligent. one of the hosts is chef, so ask for the amazing dinners they offer. Staying at this hotel made me appreciate Calais … I’m looking forward to come back in summer.
An ideal location for our trip to join in with other yacht club members who had sailed to Calais for the weekend and to attend a dinner at the Cercle Amicale Maritime just next to the hotel.
The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was very comfortable and clean.
The hotel is in the centre of Calais, only a few minutes walk from a lot of restaurants and bars and supermarkets. We’ve been warmly welcomed by the staff who were very friendly and helpful through our stay. The breakfast is good and the guarded parking very convenient.
room was fine, as you'd expect. Comfy bed and clean. We needed a taxi from Calais Ville and staff could not help us so we had to walk with all our luggage. Would be useful if hotel could book a cab for people arriving at the train station.
The mattress was soft and comfortable and the hotel was close to the car ferry but hard to find though Calais is somewhat complicated. The parking was large with a little grass surrounding the hotel appreciated by our dog.
Beds super comfy, staff lovely and very helpful. Let us store our bikes securely. Breakfast very nice. Very good location for hypermarket and channel tunnel etc. About 1 mile walk from Calais for evening meal.
The owner is one of the nicest gentleman you’ll encounter in France! The hospitality and warm welcome is superb. The building is so unique, historic, and genuine. Location is ideal!! Breakfast was 5-stars!!
Its a budget basic hotel, perfect for breaking the journey up at Calais. Suit a family or single traveller alike. It has a locked carpark at night. Felt safe.
