An astonishing building in a beautiful setting, it reminded me (a bit) of the Grand Budapest Hotel somewhere in Xero's late-middle age. A piano / singer duo was performing in the lounge upon my arrival, the room was a good size and comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Highly recommended.
Located in the town of Vernet-Les-Bains, surrounded by mountains, this property sits in a large peaceful garden with century trees.

This hotel is in a beautiful, quiet, country setting very close to the center of town. We were only going to stay one night but decided to stay on for a second. The owner was a huge help to us in planning our ongoing hike, transportation and accommodations.

Lovely welcoming reception area and staff.
Room and bathroom spotlessly clean, towels soft, bed so comfy and everything thought of.
Grounds and pool very well cared for.
Couldn't fault it at all and would certainly recommend and visit without doubt when next in area.

well appointed room and facility, air conditioning was very welcome. great setting surrounded by farm animals (not noisy) and views of Pyrenees.
Owner thoughtfully sent directions because sat nav would have failed to find it and the road was ‘closed’.
A beautiful town with a good choice of eateries. Lots of hillside walks available. The caves are a big attraction as is the fort on the hill. We also visited the nearby Saint Thomas Les Bains thermal baths which we throughly recommend.

Small old walled city nestled between towering mountains.
Small old walled city nestled between towering mountains. Other forts in the area as well. For hikers/mountain-bikers, lots of options. Departure point for the Little Yellow Train and going in the outside carriages through so many tunnels and across high bridges is really different, no lights for a start!! Engineering marvel. Lots of restaurants during the day due to day trippers but few at night.

Good half day outing is to walk up to Fort Liberia, explore the ramparts, have cheap and cheerful lunch and then back down the underground staircase to the village. The Grottos are also easy to walk to and stunningly beautiful.
