Our room had a broken toilet on arrival, we paid for a balcony suite, was beautiful, however we got moved a room that was significantly down graded , stuffy, small and had ants in the bathroom. We were told we’d be refunded 30% after 10 days and it’s been over a month and we’re still trying to fight for that refund. Our stay turned out to be uncomfortable , the bed was hard and sheets felt like plastic. For a couple with a baby, the room we had was awful in regards to what we paid. We will never return again and I will be telling my friends of this bad experience.

What an amazing little gem! Comfy, spacious and clean rooms, with all that you might need. Great to have your own parking space, location is a perfect getaway and the host just makes the whole place shine - not to mention the excellent breakfast that’s served! 10/10 will recommend and would return again!! Thank you so much!

Everything. Bit confused our room was next door but I loved everything about it. Expected an on suite but we loved our seperate bathroom. Shame a customer next door was talking loudly until 3 am but that is nothing to do with the booking

The castle and architecture, particularly at that end of town, is nice and the setting lovely. Tintern Abbey is a 6 mile bus ride away and well worth seeing. Unfortunately, you can't walk along the River Wye to it; the designated walk takes you well away from the river on both banks, though this is somewhat due to sheer cliffs! Not much else to see and do in the immediate area and no Sunday buses, so a better midweek break or day trip than a weekend break for non-drivers like myself.
I go for the Chepstow Wassail and Mari Lwyd event on a Saturday in January and tend to stop off elsewhere on the route home on the Sunday because there's no way to get anywhere locally.

Evening meal we had in the bar area, which we appreciated had a limited menu, three of us ordered chicken burger, which too over 30 minutes to arrive, the chicken was tough and over cooked. Taxi was extortionate costing £29.00 to go less than 3 miles - recommended by the hotel! Service is poor when the hotel is full - they do not cope well.

We didn’t go into Chepstow as we were there for the races on 24 th August. It was a perfect stay. The apartment was perfect in every way. Only needed food but the farm shop had all needs.
There wasn’t a pub but take own or buy in farm shop.
Lovely view towards the river.

Very pretty small town with lots of pubs, cafes and eating places to choose from. The beautiful castle set on the river is obviously a big attraction and Chepstow is a great base to visit many other places. Tintern Abbey is just up the road and Raglan Castle is a must see.

Chepstow is a delightful town with many interesting attractions not the best is undoubtedly Chepstow Castle. It has been fantastically well preserved and the wonder of Tintern Abby is a must for anyone staying in or near Chepstow.
Several different types of restaurants including a gem of an Italian one at the bottom of the town just below Chepstow bridge
superb location, very grand looking building as you arrive at reception. we were located in the mathern building which was a good location for access to both the hotel and a short 2minute walk to the pool. Cant actually fault anything, staff were all very friendly, room was clean, breakfast buffet was excellent, views of the golf course from our room. Ample parking, great pool temp too which is important! Easy access to Chepstow and surrounding areas, great base if your are going and arent a golfer. Would return for sure.
Great location for the town centre and exploring the castle and further afield.
Parking wasn't an issue as large car park across the road and free after 6pm so left car overnight till Sunday 10am and didn't pay at all. First 2 hours free on Sunday from 8am. Probably preferable to the usual tight parking you get on site at some B&B's as well.
Bed fine and no issues with the breakfast.
As others have said the pizza they serve is good on an evening.
Room was a good size, clean, cosy and modern. The shower is convenient in the morning but there was also a bath which is great for a nice soak in the evening. I had both an evening meal and breakfast at the pub and both were excellent. I'm working away from home in Chepstow so also very convenient as avoids any possible disruption from bridge closures.
Beautiful place to stay. Jamie was a friendly, attentive host, offering tips on the local area and making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was great and the whole place was well thought out and well looked after. Loved the little touches like the fresh tulips. It really felt like a private getaway.
Excellent location in the town centre and only a few minutes walk from the castle. The bedroom was a good size and facilities were good. The bed and furniture could benefit from updating but didn’t spoil our stay. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good.
The hotel is right in front of Chepstow Castle where we went for the Hawkwind show so it was very convenient and has a nice beer garden out back. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast the next morning was awesome. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
Loved the breakfast - amazing! Staff were very helpful and friendly :)
Location was fab - right opposite the main carpark in Chepstow (which is also super cheap!)
It was lovely to be able to bring our dog as the hotel is pet friendly.
Lovely comfortable and quiet hotel room. Pub just across the car park and the breakfast was good and lots to choose from. Definitely recommend if you want a visit to Chepstow. Plus its just a 10min walk from the town!
Cosy, friendly Inn with open fire, amazing pies on the menu each day.
Our room was very comfortable, with good facilities and powerful shower.
Well located close to town centre and castle.
clean. well furnished. light and airy, space good, modern equipped kitchen, own off street parking space, short walk from town centre, use of garden, nice setting.
The location of the first hurdle is great. In walking distance of all places in the town centre. It's a lovely old building. And the staff were more than helpful.
