Lovely welcome on our next to last leg of C2C Hadrian's Wall bike ride. Bikes stored, booked in and 2 pints of Guinness pulled within 5 minutes of arrival. So welcoming!
Restaurant table booked and our evening meal was perfect following a long day on the bikes. Comfy room, great breakfast, great value. Perfect!
With panoramic views of beautiful countryside, the Ravensworth Arms Hotel is a charming pub with bright, traditional rooms.

Check-in was good. They swapped us to two outside rooms once they realised we had a dog with us.
I liked the fact that we were able to park directly outside the room at all times. The room was OK. The beds were comfortable. There was a choice of two pillows, and at least one of them was comfortable. The bedding was a duvet in a white cover and was comfortable. There were mains sockets next to the bed. Some mains sockets were obscured by the bed but I was able to find them without difficulty. The prerequisites for making tea and coffee were provided in the room, replenished daily. The water for tea and coffee could be had from the tap in the en-suite. The tap water was drinkable.
The en-suite was OK. Hand-wash fluid and moisturizer were provided at both the washbasin and the bath. When we arrived there was very little hand-wash fluid at the washbasin. We took the dog for a walk, during which time I telephoned back and mentioned this, and they had replenished it before we got back to the room — good; some hotels take forever to replenish consumables. There was toilet paper on the holder, and a spare roll provided.
The location had 5G mobile data with 200Mbit/s downstream. The room had its own wi-fi access point on the ceiling and provided about 40Mbit/s downstream connection.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
We had dinner on the both nights. Portion sizes were generous, though the food and drinks were not cheap.
Breakfast was good. It seems like we had pre-purchased the full breakfast package, because we had the cooked breakfast on both mornings and were not charged any more at checkout. Cold breakfast items, toast, and tea/coffee were available from a table. Cooked breakfasts were made to order and included moderately fancy things like Eggs Benedict.
The dinner offerings were sufficiently good that we went back on the second night, bringing two extra guests with us.

The building and staff were lovely. The food was very tasty and nice to have some different options on the menu. I don’t drink hot drinks I liked the fact that there was bottled water in the room.

Gateshead is great for shopping, restaurants etc with Newcastle city and access to Baltic and Glasshouse (formerly Sage) easy . Unfortunately the public transport for me was extremely disappointing and erratic with little incentive to reduce car usage. Ok, they have rush hours like most cities in UK but waiting 1.5 hours on Friday night for a single bus from the terminus that was cancelled every 30 minutes without explanation or apology is totally acceptable!. I wasted a full two hours trying to get from city to hotel in Gateshead and almost gave in to a cab as many other passengers had done. I was determined to keep my carbon footprint intact but it left me livid. If this government want us to leave our cars behind they need to level things up far far better!

Very huge spawling and faceless decrepit 70s building towers. Some areas looked run down and dodgy not a place to be late at night.
Maybe there were some prettier areas but in the time we had we didn't find any.
Thd old part 5 mins away was pretty with old country estates, parks and nice restaurants.

Rang hotel to let them know i'm disabled and dont handle stairs very well so switched to a ground floor room. There is a staff lift which they will let you use if needed. Also dont be conned by local taxis, they told us pub near hotel had a late bar but it didnt and on returning to hotel staff told us 24/7 bar for residents as night watch keeper would get you drinks if after hours. Loads of staff around when we got back after 12am as there had been a wedding function there and they were resetting the place for the morning. No problems at all very clean hotel and breakfast was spot on too.

We were visiting The Sage in Gateshead for a Brit Floyd concert, but Newcastle just a short walk over the Millennium Bridge, which is a lovely city and quaint quayside Sunday market. Later walked back and up into Gateshead. Don't know the area but didn't seem much to see compared to Newcastle so just assumed Newcastle is the larger city. It was getting dark as well and everything closed, didn't see many restaurants open. We did find a Wetherspoons and had dinner in there. Preferred Newcastle which was vibrant by comparison. It was a short walk through to Gateshead though and maybe we'd have discovered more if we'd had more time there.

Gateshead and the surrounding area has a massive range of things to see and do and all within a short distance. For instance, on our visit and in one day, we visited 'The Angel of the North', 'Marsden Grotto' (superb place indeed), North Shields the 'Pedestrian/Cycle Tunnel, the 'Barbour' outlet and the Tyne Tunnel as a very small selection.

Brilliant location the Hotel looks like hotels i have stayed...
Brilliant location the Hotel looks like hotels i have stayed in in mainland Europe Italy Austria & Southern Germany the food and room was splendid i would of liked to stay longer as my stay was only 4 one night.
I highly recomend this hotel & restrant.
Being close to Team Valley Industrial Estate the location is perfect for me. The hotel has plentifull onsite parking, and is warm and comfortable, though my water supply was a little noisy when the taps were on. This wasn't a problem for me but I suspect the people in the next room may have heard it if I turned it on in the early hours.
The evening meal was very good and though the sea bass and scallops risotto wasn't a mean portion I found myself wishing there was more of the excellent risotto.

A fantastic wee hidden gem the room was lovely decorated and very homely with a very comfy bed and it was a decent size. Even although it was right next to the A1 motorway it was peaceful and tranquil. The food was amazing and the bar very spacious with very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend this lovely hotel which has very helpful and friendly staff, will definitely be back 😀
We received a warm welcome on arrival and, during the whole stay, all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable. We only had breakfast there, with a good choice for everyone - I would recommend the 'full English'. The hotel is in a quiet location and the grounds are a delight (when it's sunny!)
I booked this hotel for the location and the good quality that I have experienced before. Unfortunately, in my excitement of an event, I booked this hotel twice without realizing. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, courteous and kind about the error and within 12 hours they cancelled the double booking and cleared the invoice.
Beautifully unique, staff where amazing and I really mean that looked after us very well thank you! Small individual hotel with beautiful period features. Easy access to the A1 perfect location just out of town but easy routes into Gateshead and the surrounding areas! Evening meal and breakfast where brilliant too. Thank you
staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. Nice clean rooms with really comfortable beds. Location of hotel is perfect as you're very close to the MetroCentre, a 24 hour Asda as well as a couple of retail parks and IKEA. There's a KFC and TGi Fridays right outside if you're hungry and don't want to travel to get food.
Location, visiting family in Low Fell. Lovely appearance both inside and outside, much nicer than the modern hotel chains quayside. Friendly staff, plenty of choice for breakfast, didn't have dinner in the restaurant but it seemed very popular. Will definitely stay again when visiting in future.
Friendly staff, food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Room was warm and clean .Saw michelangelos on The Hotel Insector tv show was overnight stay on way back from Scotland.
Will return if Newcastle way again.
Would highly recommend
This hotel was very close to perfect. The room is clean and spacious. The tv was a good size and not at a ridiculous height on the wall. The bathroom was modern and clean. The staff and restaurant are fabulous. Definitely recommend.
Spent a weekend at this outstanding hotel, on arrival was greeted by David who kindly showed us to our room, which was well; spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, has all you need for your stay including a large flat screen TV.
Awful unclean smelt so bad we couldn’t stay and had to book into a hotel . Paid £170 for somewhere we couldn’t stay and got a refund credit of £17 joke do not book this place
The staff were polite and friendly. The room was really comfortable and warm. The local bus was able to take us into Gateshead or Newcastle, so the location was really good.
Park Farm have nailed the hotel experience. Great communication. Really good rooms and hassle free stay. Exactly what I needed for my stay near Newcastle. Great price too.
