Very warmly staffed. Shower was good, always a win. Friendly open communal areas that worked well. Perfectly located for hubby who was diving. Felt safe for our teenage boys growing independence.10pm noise curfew was followed by all, much appreciated . It Reminded hubby and I of a place we stayed in Australia, one world backpackersin Perth. Exactly what we had expected.

Location was ideal near harbour and shops.
Breakfast was lovely.
We enjoyed exploring Ilfracombe and the surrounding area.
We enjoyed exploring Ilfracombe and the surrounding area. We had good weather and walked some of the cliff path, as well as around the harbour area.
We had a look at Verity and went up to the little hilltop chapel.
We found good restaurants and a couple of pleasant pubs as well as a cafe for breakfast 😋
It was warm enough to have a swim at the Tunnels beach!
We got special toasties from the deli. en route to the harbour and found a seat with a view to eat them!

Great fish and chip and ice cream shop.
Great fish and chip and ice cream shop. Lovely walk up to the hill with fabulous views.
Sadly, lots of shops closed or closed early. Need more interesting shops in the high st. The Nest, florist, chocolate emporium were definitely the best.

Ilfracombe is a lovely place to visit, however please be aware how hilly it is. Walking down to harbour is easy but the return journey can be a bit of a slog.
Had gluten free fish and chips from Lynbay fish and chip shop.
Gluten free cream tea from St James tea garden.
Wasn't overly impressed with the beach as it mainly slate pebbles, but Woolacombe is not far away with golden sands.

Many part of this town including its HIGH STREET are looking terribly run down and rough. So too some pubs ...
I'm sure it will perk up in higher season but money needs to be spent on its appearance .
The streets felt as safe as most places in Britain and some Bistros and cafes were delightful. Roads are narrow and some extremely vertiginous . Parking can be an issue in high season I guess.

Ilfracombe is worth a visit and is probably better in the summer than when we visited. We preferred Woolacombe and Puttsborough beach is great for surfing. We walked around Baggy Point and saw some amazing views. Well worth a visit.

There were some really lovely parts of Ilfracombe and some not so nice , like most towns . Most of the architecture is stunning with old and new together but some new don't fit in. The scenery on the coast is amazing with lots of craggy coves and you can walk along the South West Coast Path . There is a small harbour where a stunning Damien Hirst statue is of Verity ,Statue of Justice if I remember correctly Parts of Ilfracombe are quite steep but there are slopes and some roads on the flat. We ate Sunday lunch at the Thatched Inn , had Breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe down by a cove . We loved it.
The breakfast was exceptional. My husband is vegetarian and was very happy to be offered vegetarian sausages (apart from the usual eggs, mushrooms etc). Besides the freshly cooked breakfast, Cairn house also have the cereal, fruit and yoghurts available.
We're so grateful to have been upgraded to a better room that had a beautiful bay window overlooking the front of the house, with views of ilfracombe and distant sea views. The room was very spacious and obviously comfortable, as well as the bathroom.
Everything! If I could give this hotel an 11 or 12 I would. It's truly exceptional. Run by a warm and engaging couple who deliver an outstanding service despite it being just the two of them. The breakfasts were wonderful and the place is immaculate. Great attention to detail with everything thought through. We loved Ilfracombe for its accessibility to the south coast trail, and the walk to Woolacombe is truly stunning! I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for keen walkers.
The location is excellent, with stunning views of the harbour from 1 bedroom and direct views of the church in the other. It is very central to everything you want to visit in Ilfracombe.
The main lounge was nicely decorated and enjoyable enough for a conversation in the evening, but rather small for dining.
There were some lovely lamps in all rooms.
The host was lovely and communicative.
We were visiting Ilfracombe for a wedding at The Tunnels, so the Bathhouse Hotel was perfect as it's just across the road from the venue. But the hotel is also very close to all amenities of the town and with the coastal path two minutes walk away we didn't stray far from Ilfracombe at all for the time we were there. We had such a lovely time.
Very stylish hotel, 15 minute walk down hill to centre . Owners were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast cooked to order and were excellent. Ilfracombe is very hilly so if you have mobility problems I would look to stay nearer the town centre where its flat. Overall excellent and would definetly stay there again
The location was convenient, the room was decorated beautifully with a lovely view. It was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The service from Piper and Terence was second to none. They were extremely helpful and very friendly. Would 100% recommend The Devonian to anyone travelling to the area.
We attend a wedding at The Tunnel Beaches, This Hotel/BB is less than one minute from the main gate. The staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great with a large selection to choose from. The room was a good size for a family room with all the usual items. Its the perfect location to stop at
The Property is beautifully set in a secluded wooded valley, with a relaxing garden and good parking, very close to the lively delightful harbour town of Ilfracombe. A warm welcome, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast with tasty coffee, make it a superb base for exploring North Devon and beyond
Location excellent and quiet room. Loved the room as bed extremely comfortable and shower had plenty of hot water. The room smelt fresh and bedding clean. Hotel reception staff were very very friendly and helpful, thank you for a lovely relaxing stay. We will return.
Really nice place , hosts are helpful and friendly , lovely well kept and organized place to stay . Breakfasts are very nice , rooms are large and really nice . Had a great week here . Bus stop at end of driveway to ilfracombe , woolacombe , Barnstaple .
Location was superb as we travelled by bus using the Exmoor Coaster from Watcher harbour to Lynmouth and then to Barnstaple and Ilfracombe returning on the Sunshine bus and Exmoor Coaster so the hotel was ideal for our purposes
What did I like? To be honest, not a lot. I only booked here because everywhere else in Ilfracombe was fully booked - having stayed there now I know why this hotel was the only hotel in Ilfracombe that had vacancies.
The location was perfect for visiting Ilfracombe and surrounding areas.
The hotel owners were lovely - very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. And breakfast was excellent!
Well provisioned kitchen for cooking at home. Nicely placed between Ilfracombe and Hele, both a short walk away. Hillsborough park across the road. A great base for exploring north devon
A very friendly and welcoming inn. Very clean bedroom, lovely hosts and excellent breakfast (superb poached eggs!) great location right by the harbour with parking available nearby.
