Hull has a lot going for it. We were there for a show at the refurbished New Theatre, and it is well represented with regard to the Arts and Museums. The Marina area is a big draw normally, but massive, long term road reconstruction on the A63 right along the waterfront and towards the ferry terminal, makes it very difficult to access. The train Station is right opposite Ferensway in the centre of Hull, and is an excellent way to arrive for the foreseeable future!

Hull has changed so much since my last visit and I genuinely adored my trip. The shops, bars, restaurants and sights were top notch. The marina is beautiful, the range of independent places to eat drink and shop is wonderful. The arcade and market all add to a great vibe and I can’t wait to visit again!

Never knew how much there is to do here!
Never knew how much there is to do here! We had a lovely walk into town and popped into a few of the older pubs (highly recommend Minerva, Ye Olde Black Boy and Fretwells). Was much busier than expected on Saturday afternoon! Then visited the museum quarter the next day and loved it. Will be returning to do some of the trails! Locals friendly, especially en route to and at the football ground. Only thing that could have made it better was if Hull had let us have all 3 points!

Marina area & museums excellent.
Marina area & museums excellent. Old town quite tatty & not much to see. Recommend Hull as a base with 1 day to walk around + 1 museum + 1 more for the Deep & another museum. Highly recommend beautiful Beverley for a visit

I used to study there sometime in the last century.
I used to study there sometime in the last century. It is a quirky and interesting city, not beautiful like Edinburgh or Venice but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of beauty to be found if you take a close look.
Hull gets slagged off by people who have never been there, which is very unfair. It has a lot of history and nice architecture. And compared to most other major cities it's cheap as chips (and the chips are very good!)
Arrive there via the magnificent Humber Bridge. Visit the Ferens Art Gallery. Take in a show at Hull Truck, The New Theatre or the World Class Don Roy Theatre at the university campus. And enjoy the revitalised harbour and Old Town

Wife is from Hull so we visit quite a bit, it's maybe lost some of it's character and vibes, as other places but still love visiting,.lots of new infrastructure going on, which should make a difference, the Hull people are very friendly as and have been since my first visit 25 years ago
Was very clean and rooms was nice and warm comfy bed aswell, also like to add that this hotel has parking free of charge which some of the hotels near by didn’t have parking included in your stay and the location of this hotel is central 5mins walk to the centre of hull staff was amazing and check out time was very good some hotels want you out by 10.00 for your stay here you don’t have to be out till 12:00 which is fab. Deffo worth staying here for the price hopefully see you again soon for another stay
old building with plenty of character, with lots of photos if the park opposite. expected two beds in one room was pleasantly surprised when we got there to find two separate rooms within our room. there was an annoying ticking noise coming from in the wall, sounded like a clock but couldn’t find one anywhere but there was a fan so used that to cover up the noise. great location, very close to a variety of shops, and a stones throw from the city centre. excellent value for money
Room was immense, bed was big and comfortable. The restaurant was cosy with a lovely friendly atmosphere and a decent range of food cooked beautifully. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. We liked it so much we extended our stay
Room had a couch, ironing board, range of ambiance light setting. Warm as we visited in winter and the bathroom had every thing and again warm. City centre a walk away and given a parking permit so didn't have to leave on check out.
Location great, local shop round the corner for breakkie bits and pieces and good selection of wines, cheese and crackers for the evening. 50 yards further to the street of bars and restaurants and overlooking the Marina so ideally located away from the main City centre - ideal for our stay. Views from the Penthouse of the sea and the Deep. great sunset !
Great location, great to have locked parking at the back of the hotel, lovely couple running the hotel, great large room with very comfortable bed/s, kettle, tea/biscuits etc available. Quiet and peaceful. Restaurants and take away chip shops close by, Tesco at walking distance behind the train station which also is the start of the city centre.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good considering the hotel was still operating under Covid restrictions - limited choice delivered to the table. The hotel is in a wonderful location with views of the River Humber - drinks enjoyed on the terrace enjoying this view in the evening sunshine
Ease of access to/from city centre. Just off the main Hull to Beverley road, but far enough off to still be quiet. Adjacent to Pearson Park. Friendly & courteous staff. Very good wifi, even at the rear of the hotel (room 16). Desk in room was big enough to spread out my laptop etc & do some work in comfort.
The hotel is very close to the marina and the centre of Hull, with lots of restaurants, shops and bars within a 5 minute walk.
The property is cleaned to a high standard and the rooms are excellent value for money.
There is also a pub and bar downstairs which is convenient.
Lovely hotel within easy walking distance of Hull City Centre. Especially convenient for the theatre too. Service was impeccable, rooms big and clean. Breakfast was filling and parking convenient (make sure to book in first to get the parking perrmit).
It was on route and suitable for an overnight stop. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We didn’t check in till 9pm which was fine and we were checked in with a smile. Therefore a cheap 2 star hotel which meet our expectations
The staff were all very friendly and cheerful when asked to help. The location is ideal, being on the Marina and within easy walking distance of the centre of Hull. We appreciated having aircon as it was extremely hot during our stay
Ideal location for amenities and for work. Hotel based in its own grounds with nice scenery and away from the hustle and bustle of main road linking Hull city centre and Beverley. Hotel room very clean and modern
I am from Hull so know the area very well and I picked this hotel as it was the cheapest online and is in a great location in the city centre. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Booking was cancelled by The Royal before the visit so had to book into another hotel, hence the low rating. I'm sure it would have been good if it wasn't cancelled.
