Victorian Resort with a Welsh Twist
The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.
A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.
A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.
Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.
The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

There were a lot of shops and restaurants in town. It was easy get to other locations in north wales by car. Beautiful scenery and places of interest. It is a very traditional Victorian resort, with 2 excellent promenades, the main prom is wide and well maintained, there is a long pier with small fairground attractions, and craft shops. There is also the oldest Punch and Judy show and store. The resort itself has many shopping streets and also a shopping park 5 minute walk from the main prom, Llandudno has the scenic great Orme which you can climb, take a tram or go by car to the summit, and many restaurants, bars and cafes in the resort are dog friendly

I am from the area but moved many years ago. It was nice to visit like a proper tourist/ holidaymaker! A lot has changed in Llandudno since i lived there. Very clean wherever I went and some great places to eat and drink in. I have always rated the north prom which is where my hotel was located with the stunning bay capturing the Orme / pier and little Orme. Good to see a few of the hotels are having work done to them. We had fantastic accommodation at mulberry house, they even decorated our breakfast table for my birthday and put a candle on my sausage 😀 if you want a good Sunday roast cottage loaf public house is brilliant not cheap but worth it, cable car up great orme a must. Rooms were clean and comfortable and exactly as described on the website. The welcome was warm and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Communication was excellent. For our particular needs this was a perfect choice. To be recommended.
