Arrived at hotel but did not stay. The receptionist waited untill after we had paid to tell us that the facilities were closed for refurbishment. Explained that was why we chose the hotel and why not tell us before we paid. She then refused to refund money saying it says it on the site. Manager was called and he was unable to show me on my phone on the site where it stated closed. he said he was not authorised to do refund. He eventually did after I got upset and said I needed the money to find somewhere else. The process was not pleasant and had they informed us right away we could have made a informed decision. The hotel looked like it would have been a nice place to stay however we have been put off with the lack of customer service and our experience so it is not one we would go back to unfortunately.

The hotel is situated right next to the river. A lovely view and close enough to walk into town for good and drinks.
We stayed in the executive room, which was a great size, a river view and a really comfy bed!

A really great home in an easily accessible location. It had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We were lucky that the weather was great so we could use the garden too. Able to extend check out time a little later too to suit our needs.

We have traveled a lot of the years and YOY was friendly and organised.
The only thing worth mentioning is the stairs are steep and it maybe a problem if someone have heavy cases or a knee disability. Overall, everything else was good. Plenty of everything and the owners try hard to make your stay a happy one.

We only stayed one night but about half a mile away from the hotel we found a restaurant which overlooks the Thames and had a wonderful meal which made up a little for the disappointment with the hotel we booked

Boulters Mill and Ray Mill Island were fabulous to walk around, had a nice coffee in a lovely spot at the Piazza just a little further on from the Boathouse which we sat at but didn't order at as they were coming into lunch service and we just wanted coffee. Ate on a very warm summer's evening at Roux at Skindles Mill which was on our doorstep having stayed at the Thames Riveria Hotel. We sat on the terrace and ate a most delightful meal, finished up at the Hall & Woodhouse Boatyard at which we sat outside all evening as very warm. All in all a superb day with lots of lovely things to do and places to go. Evening before we had gone to the Bear near Maidenhead town and that was very pleasant and reasonable as you would expect from Wetherspoons.

Good stay but I belive it should be made clear that there are two buildings and you may not actually stay in the hotel building but the adjacent building and our room did not have a safe or dressing gown and slippers as other rooms do.

The accommodation is within walking distance of the river and there is an excellent Thai restaurant in the next street and I can highly recommend the food. My trip was for work purposes, so I didn't have time for sightseeing.

The river and walks around are lovely.
The river and walks around are lovely. Boulter's Lock is very close - a noted beauty spot, as is Cliveden with its extensive NT gardens, river walk and echoes of scandal.
Maidenhead itself, on the other hand, is badly run-down, as are so many town centres these days. The shopping mall would have been modest in its heyday, but with many empty units, betting and charity shops on its high Street, it resembles the epitome of broken Britain. The shopping centre car park is now closed, permanently by the look of it, and the nearest multistorey is a nightmare to access with evidence of many cars leaving paintwork on the narrow entry/exit bollards.
An area that obviously has many exceptionally expensive private houses and quite extensive recently built apartments, reveals an unexpectedly disappointing town centre.
Location. Near the river, Brad restaurants.
Very convenient to get to Maidenhead train station. Fast train into Paddington took about 20-25 minutes.
Flat well set up, and while we didn’t use the kitchen appliances looked good and utensils well stock.
Instructions from Joe easy to understand and provision of photos was helpful.
Beds comfortable. Plenty of space.
Well located -close to town centre and to Waitrose ( over the road for supplies) but quiet area.Only a small block of flats.
Facilities include washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, iron, hairdryer, two showers in this case as had en suite and family bathroom. Plenty of options on the TVs :Now ,Netflix, iplayer ,etc. Neutral decor and seemed well cared for.
We were very pleased with the accommodation and received a warm welcome from Laurent who was also very helpful. He gave us tips for our journey into London and Places to eat locally. Saying that we wished we had eaten at The Bakery on one of our evenings. It was extremely quiet considering how close it was to the town centre.
The whole team at Taplow house were exceptional and attentive lead by Jason the hotel manager. They made our stay extremely welcoming and at home. They went to extraordinary lengths to ensure my wife’s 50th birthday surprise break was one to remember. Thank you all and see you again soon Nick & Marie
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, I asked for porridge, and you don't do it.
Not a lot of staff on, I know it was Christmas. On the whole the Breakfast wasn't as bad as some hotels I've been to.
When I'm in Maidenhead again I'll definitely book up.
The location: on the banks of the Thames River, with ten+ swans nearby, in a historic hotel (though it is no longer possible to arrive at the hotel by river boat)..
The restaurant is comfortable and provides a delicious breakfast (cost extra).
Large, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped room ( number 6 ) overlooking pool and garden. Staff ( Sarah ) was most helpful, hospitable and accommodating. Good parking and wi-fi. Great walks from the hotel along the Thames paths
The location is good for access to Maidenhead, Legoland, Cookham. The room was very clean and Carla was really friendly and helpful. The room was basic but light and airy, nice decor and the bed was comfy.
This is a lovely hotel in a stunning location. The bar and restaurant are excellent, with the food and other facilities a good standard. We found it very good value for money and would definitely return.
The location is great, very close to Maidenhead town centre and next to a lovely pub with a big beer garden. The room itself had all of the amenities, comfortable bed, TV, hair-dryer and so on.
The room was excellent and very clean and comfortable. The evening meal was very good. The hotel was in a good location for visiting Henley,Windsor and Maidenhead.
Beautiful interiors and location on River Thames. I was travelling for business and much prefer to stay in boutique locations, rather than impesonal hotels.
From the outside the hotel looks shocking, I thought I had the wrong place - however once you're inside it is very nice, good decoration and fabulous pool.
