Oban is a city built around a late 18th-century distillery that produces one of the finest single malt whiskeys in Scotland. This normally peaceful town is invaded during summer when tourists use it as a base to visit the Inner Hebrides islands such as Mull, Lismore and Coll, supporting its status as the Gateway to the Isles.
The horseshoe-shaped Oban Bay is sheltered by Kerrera Island with its spectacular Gylen Castle. Award-winning seafood restaurants and lively pubs line George Street and the waterfront of Corran Esplanade adjacent to the harbour.
Take a short walk up the hill to McCaig’s Tower, a structure based on the Roman Colosseum, for the finest views of Oban’s centre and the outer islands. When you get back down to sea level, stroll into and stumble out of the Oban whiskey distillery after sampling the local version of the 'water of life'.
Admire the coastal scenery as you travel a bit out of town to the 7th-century ruins of Dunollie Castle, home of the Clan MacDougall. The Firth of Lorn gives visitors a fanatstic opportunity to try some sea kayaking.
As the capital of North Argyll, Oban has a great selection of hotels, guest houses and B&Bs available on Booking.com.

Oban is on a very pretty bay.
Oban is on a very pretty bay. It was really busy on a beautiful Saturday and the people were friendly and helpful. Coasters and EE-usk accepted us for food/drinks with no reservations!
We did not get there early enough to explore the attractions.
The train station and ferry terminal were very efficient and helpful.
We discovered a choir and orchestra concert which was a real treat!

Oban is a delightful seaside town that offers very good restaurants, shopping (small shops with nice merchandise) and the ability to enjoy the beauty of the bay and all of its activity. Oban makes a great base for exploring the area of walks/hikes, going out on small boat short duration trips to see wildlife, lots of castles to visit or to take the ferry out to the islands. Taxi service is plentiful as are private tour guides.

Bustling little port at centre of Highland area, ferries to outer and inner islands. Train station if no car, plus reasonable bus service to places of interest, eg. Dunstaffnage Castle and Oceanic research facility at Dunbeg etc. Try a ferry visit to Mull and look out for seals , dolphins, etc.
Excellent shops and restaurants, all in small scale and within easy walking distance.
Lots of points of interest and if weather nice, very hard to beat. Great for Families with young children and Oldies as well.

GORGEOUS little port town.
GORGEOUS little port town. Lots of lovely little shops, an interesting war time museum, and excellent food and drink in the numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants. Easy access to travel by bus, ferries, and trains.
Walked (some of us VERY SLOWLY!) up the hill to McCaig's Tower and enjoyed the spectacular views; followed by a delicious late lunch at Cuan Mor.
Beautiful Victorian building right on the waterfront which is always spectacular in Oban. Despite the reviews we booked last minute for a break away just 40 minutes from home and we were not let down. Whilst for the price I do not expect this to be like other hotels we use worldwide but it was clean, comfortable, warm, shower and bathroom were great, parking right outside and we walked into town for dinner, drinks and some live music. Staff were courteous, polite and fun. Did not eat or drink with them but everything else no complaints
This hotel is what it is. It's not luxurious, it's not perfectly maintained etc. but it's the cheapest hotel in Oban, it's right round the corner from the harbour, so a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast for a cooked buffet is great, and there's a few choices of continental too.
If you are just looking for somewhere for a few nights to sleep, wash and eat breakfast, there nothing wrong with this place at all and I'd probably try again here when I return to Oban.
We liked the peaceful location , but it was still close enough to the town centre. The apartment had tasteful decor and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Immaculate. It was so nice to have the kitchenette, compared to being in a hotel, with people coming and going all the time etc.
Was a real treat. Home from home. Free parking spot too, rare in Oban!
Corrimar made us like Oban. The room was clean, big and with big windows open to a fantastic sea-view. It’s only 10-15 mins walk to the city centre along the seaside. We are not fuzzy about breakfast. The restaurant in Oban Bay Hotel a few blocks away totally satisfied our crave for good food. To us, Corrimar House is perfect. We will definitely come back.
This hotel is in centre of Oban, close to shops, bus routes, train. Beautiful harbour nearby with ferry links.
Bedroom was very good size, clean linen each day, tea/coffee making facility with bonus Tunocks teacake each day.
Lovely breakfast each morning,
Very friendly staff.Bar facility available.
Place was spotlessly clean.
The hotel was perfect for our overnight stay in Oban. Our room faced the water, which was a plus. Wonderful breakfast and dinner included. Both delicious and filling. Enjoyed the sunset in the bar area. Staff made me a perfect cocktail! Wish we could have stayed longer and we would definitely stay at this hotel if we return.
We had a fantastic one night stay at the Oban Bay Hotel and we chose it due to it being dog friendly, and it most certainly was. The staff were all excellent, very friendly and attentive and the hotel facilities were fantastic. I especially liked the complimentary caramel wafer in the room, sublime!
After very bumpy first impression (rejected moldy room, non-existent waitstaff), rest of stay was uneventful. The very new bathrooms are nice (rain shower head, etc.) but the very worn finishes in common areas (fire doors, stair carpeting) make you feel like you’re in the opposite of a royal hotel.
The staff have been so helpful my daughter had an accident in the hotel and staff were fantastic they got a first aid person to her and couldn't do enough. The room we were given after the mix up was beautiful and lovely and clean. The food is good we would stay again as it is very close to Oban
The hotel is exceptionally clean, staff very warm and service oriented, plus a nice bar! The train stop is a 3 min walk, which makes Oban and surrounding areas very accessible. The made to order breakfast with a sea view was amazing!
Traditional country house style hotel. Excellent staff who met our every need. Comfortable bed room and public rooms. Excellent food. One of a few hotels in Oban that has sufficient parking to ensure every room has a parking space.
Very cheap hotel in Oban, although offering a room worth even less that what paid for. Good option for a quick stop in Oban. Friendly staff welcoming us at the arrival! Good breakfast provided, and included in the room cost.
Spent 2 days in Oban. Hotel was really clean and staff helpful. Great location with parking. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Would recommend and would stay here again.
Good position of hotel central for all attractions in Oban. Beds small but comfortable.
Cafe Rio attached to hotel - food excellent & lovely atmosphere.
