Location was great for walking.
Lovely welcome from a lad who worked there.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and contained the options I selected. This included the provision of hot water for my own supplied herbal tea.

It was perfect for what we wanted to do. It was just off M6 with all access to Windermere, Scotland and Keswick. Not many grocery stores or eateries to choose from in Tebay, so make sure you pick something up. Quaint little village. The host provided a little basket of breakfast items to start us off- very kind

We've been visiting Orton for over 20 years and we never tire of it. Watching business grow such as Kennedys chocolate factory and visiting the cafes and the pub The George it has a special place in our hearts. It's great base for visiting other places too like Tebay, Shap, Kendal and Appleby.

Absolutely beautiful area!!
Absolutely beautiful area!! It is so scenic and relaxing but with plenty to do within walking distance. Fabulous cafes and shops, all with friendly staff and locals. The chocolate shop is just amazing, also serving the best ice-cream!! Lots of walks to do, long and short.
My family and I will definitely be visiting again soon!! In fact if we win the lottery we will be moving here!!!
Orton hall was absolutely beautiful as was the Rochester Wing. It was lovely staying in this historic building. The apartment had everything you would need. Parking at the front of building too. Instructions on how to get in to the property we're clear. Would definitely come back again.
