The Castle Inn went above and beyond in their hospitality. We didn't want for anything, rooms very comfy, and stocked with various breakfast items, biscuits, as well as the usual tea and coffee, The staff were very friendly, and they served the most amazing food.

Breakfast was excellent. The friendly service and hospitality of the staff. We also organised a party in the evening and the service during the setting up of the room and serving the three course meal was excellent. All staff very polite when serving and catered for everyone’s needs.
The Priory is nestled within the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. Dating back to 1180, this hotel was originally a Cistercian monastery.

Our third stay at the Priory, this time in one of the cottage rooms. How wonderful to have your own little semiprivate garden! As always, the decor was beautiful and tasteful. Lovely to have a robe to relax in, and the roll top bath is always my favourite treat of the stay. Staff were as ever, so friendly and helpful. Evening meal was simply stunning, worthy of a Michelin star or two! If you stay here, you really must dine here also.
All of my requests were met and we even sat outside until sunset with a few cocktails. Had a lazy late check out at 1pm for a bargain £20.
Couldn’t fault a thing.

If you would like a break away from everything, have just...
If you would like a break away from everything, have just peace and quiet with less interruptions including internet, then this is an ideal spot to stay!!
It is comfortable, clean and the views spectacular. We loved the opportunity of finding somewhere so special to get away from it all.
If you want to spend somewhere constantly looking at your mobile phone, rather than taking in the breath-taking scenery, the feeling of farm-life and being interested in nature at it's best, then it might not appeal to you. The internet was a bit hit and miss due to the rural location, but for us it was perfect and getting away from work and phones! We also loved seeing the farm dogs and chickens.
Whilst rural, it is also very easy to find local shops, takeaways, etc, and to venture out on day trips (COVID permitting) by car. We visited Cardiff and Newport and food shopped at Cwmbran which was approx only a mile away. There is also a fabulous "fish and chip" award winning shop there, and also lots of other eateries/take-away places and supermarkets within easy reach.
We would definitely like to return to this location again in the future and to stay at Glebe Farm Cottage. Thank you for having us! Suz, Lee & Family x
