Waiting too long for trays to be refilled. Plates not cleared from tables. At 9.30 food was being cleared away, too early, leading to a feeling of being rushed. After three days still only one coffee machine working, making long queues.

Absolutely loved our pod! Very spacious and so cute! Absolutely love that we had our own bathroom with a key instead of having to share! Such a great idea. My husband said the shower was amazing!

It was quiet, in the right place, and great value for money. Also lovely people. Would definitely recommend it.

Having a car, Uckfield is in a strategic location to visit Sussex and most of Southern coast in Summer, without having to deal with the crowded coastal towns.
The countryside is just lovely, the hotel infrastructure is quite good and the staff very professional and friendly.

Uckfield is in a good location for accessing London by train and for seeing places like Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings, a range of National Trust properties and the South Downs. It is helpful to have a car.

Spacious rooms with great facilities and friendly staff.
Spacious rooms with great facilities and friendly staff. The afternoon tea and breakfast was great. As we had a child with us, we could only use the pool and spa at certain times and as a result this became quite busy at times, and we weren't able to use the Jacuzzi and Sauna to the fullest.

I think Uckfield needs to promote walking in the area.
I think Uckfield needs to promote walking in the area. We were unable to get any local maps of walks despite going to the local community centre. Perhaps the hotel should actively try to promote this, we did ask for maps at reception but were told we could walk round the golf course.
Great location and beautiful surroundings.
The room was spacious with a wonderful view of the grounds and surrounding countryside. the bed and bedding was extremely comfortable and good quality. The shower was amazing too.
Breakfast was plentiful with varied choices in a buffet style presentation. the spa facilities were also good value with a spacious swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. There were some refurbishments going on during our stay but it didn’t spoil our experience.
Breakfast was dreadful. Only cornflakes as cereal. When another guest asked for granola, the answer was that they had run out. If I was managing the hotel I would have gone shopping at the local store for a box of muesli/granola. Orange juice was not fresh. Bacon and scrambled eggs were inedible; I suspect that the eggs may have come from powder.
Staff were young, pleasant and helpful but not well enough trained.
The staff were excellent, polite, friendly and so helpful, a credit to the Management team. The hotel, in all areas, was spotlessly clean, The dining room was an excellent venue for breakfast, tables well stocked with cutlery and condiments. There was an enormous variety of choices, again, well presented but well cooked on the hot buffet.
The staff and owner were so friendly and made us feel at home. The interior of the hotel was made up of beautiful Indian furniture. The room was beautiful and immaculate. Bathroom was beautiful too. The grounds were so peaceful and vast. We had a very relaxing stay. We did not want to leave. Will definitely return.
Interesting place, not a hotel as such- the accommodation is more of a side-line to the owners' other businesses. (The set-up is a shop, art gallery, café, music and wedding venue.)
Warmly welcomed, the courtyard room was spacious and comfortable. And quiet.
The studio was absolutely lovely, very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated .
Very peaceful too , with the added bonus of a swimming pool
The hosts were friendly and went out of their way to make me feel at home
The bed was so comfortable !
Superb period country property, excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff. We had a mid week break from work and Horsted Place was the perfect location to unwind and relax. We are looking forward to returning soon.
Good to have teabags, coffee and milk - thank you. Key safe worked well but the key did need a fair bit of wiggling in the lock! Comfortable space and big TV. Good cafes up the High Street - Cafe 212 and Harpfields.
Good size and facilities for a 'basic' room. Availability of gluten-free options for the Afternoon Tea and Breakfast were well above expectations and better than most hotels we have used.
the hotel is gorgeous and has such a lovely feel to it. the location is also beautiful. the chocolates and card in our room for my husbands birthday was a lovely touch.
Really friendly and efficient staff in all areas. Food and drinks were very good and as I would expect for this hotel.
The room was clean and comfortable.
Staff very helpful, food good, room very spacious and well equipped, beautiful surroundings and grounds and characterful building. Log firs in the lounge.
I enjoyed everything with this hotel.
I only wish I would have received my afternoon tea in my bedroom served in the usual tray rather than on a plate.
