The port area is lovely where the attractions are. The rest will be finished in few years with not great looking huge glass buildings. Pity because it could be a lovely place, perhaps it was but it’s very rundown. However, the sculpture of Ali and Nino is worth the visit, it’s spectacular! People are lovely too. Nice place. Hotel was near the beach. Two minutes walk. People are nice. But it does not have a hotel restaurant. There is a small one which belongs to a private rental company but any one can use it. It is worth visiting Batumi.

Batumi is not a city - it's an attraction.
Batumi is not a city - it's an attraction. Everything is made for tourists and for wow-effect. People, free from soviet architectural principles and with new found money let their imaginations run wild and it resulted in a sort of perverted Disneyland, with funky buildings, tons of services and overall feeling of a funfair. It is a great experience to be here, but only once, while wow-effect still works. As for what's near Batumi - to the south are some exceptionally beautiful mountains, and to the north - great small towns for beach leisure. Also make sure to visit the Botanical Garden.

What we have seen after checking the room in the Peria Hotel was not bad (1) The beds are ok (2) the room was clean (3) the staff is friendly and at the hotel they can speak Georgian, Russian and English. The price is very low. And don't forget you get for what you pay.
