We absolutely loved Fairway Haven. The house itself has everything a family would need! Plenty of space & ensuite bathrooms in two rooms with two additional bathrooms( one upstairs & one downstairs) , lots of spare towels/ toiletries provided even though we did bring our own......lovely sunroom which was perfect for drying clothes overnight. Living area was so well equipped with a smart TV, games, books ,Nintendo game systems, even colouring books & markers! Kitchen was well laid out again with great facilities, we got a food shop on the way to the house & we could cook as / when we wanted..suited us with four boy's. Great heating system that was easy to use once I figured it out, loved the fact you could have constant hot water 😬Washing machine was so easy to use & great for keeping on top of the washing. Jack had the heating on for our arrival which was a lovely touch. He was an excellent host & got straight back to me anytime I needed to ask something, I did annoy him a few too many times I'm sure! Not that he complained. We would love to make a return visit , boy's are already talking about it. It's situated in such a scenic area, lots to do..some of which we enjoyed was Ard's Forest Park, Marble Hill beach & we even ventured future afield to Wild Ireland & Tropical World at Alcorn..The village was close by to the house with lovely cafes, shops & takeaways. I don't think we've ever been anywhere quite as beautiful, scenery was just out of this would in Ard's Forest Park, it has the most beautiful trails , beach & play area. Even a coffee shop situated beside the carpark.
I've highly recommended this house to my family & friend's already. Coco the dog next door was a big hit with the boy's too 🙂

Dunfanaghy itself could have maybe another shop or two for appealing to tourists. I noticed bus trips stop there. Unfortunately a derelict hotel opposite Arnold’s hotel is a bit of an eye sore. Have heard it may have been purchased by a new owner so that may improve things.Arnold’s itself has good outdoor appearance. In general seems a friendly community , and near a number of picturesque and beautiful beaches.

I love Donegal and would never leave without a visit to the...
I love Donegal and would never leave without a visit to the old workhouse for a coffee, a browse in the craft shop and maybe pick up a used book or two. A staff member recommended a lovely walk this time around as well. Another favourite is a visit to Ards Friary, lovely coffee there too after a walk along the sea and a visit to the beautiful little beach, perfect for the grand-children so will have to let them into the secret. Ostan Loch Altan in Gortahork is a great wee place to eat and very reasonably priced too.

Very busy this time due to heatwave & the fact people had...
Very busy this time due to heatwave & the fact people had missed out on earlier holidays this year. The beaches in Co Donegal are fabulous. We ate in “ The Cove”, Arnold’s hotel & The Shannon hotel Yes, easy to get round Dunfanaghy - just a long Main Street. We would avoid week- ends too busy!

Ended up staying an extra night! Close to the town but when you leave the town you benefit from escaping the noise and traffic to tranquil surroundings. Lovely rooms and great facilities. Made to feel very welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. Well organised and breakfast was fantastic too.

The Mill has a lovely, mellow feel and is calm. The bedroom was very comfortable and I liked that there was water in the bedroom, as well as homemade oatie biscuits. The breakfast buffet was carefully displayed with a good range of options, overnight oats, smoothies etc. and there was superb range of cooked breakfast options. The views in the morning from the bay window seat were stunning. Gillian, the owner, popped round to say hello on the Friday. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, and a well stocked kitchen, with plates, cutlery, pots and pans. By far, this is the best accommodation we've been to for many, many years. It is a beautiful and extremely comfortable property, with lovely gardens and a stunning view over the lake. Our hostess made us feel very welcome and shared good advice about nearby points of interest. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts in the warm, sunny dining room. There is a comfortable sitting room and also a conservatory where guests can relax, read a book, or share a glass of wine without feeling crowded in together.
