An excellent central location for our road trip. The hotel is beautifully decorated and we were made to feel very much at home. The food was freshly made. We ate David’s delicious oat cakes at the top of Croagh Patrick today - he recommended this hike for a later part of our trip 😊

Our first night in Ireland and my wife and I could not have asked for a better start. Joe met us in the dining room after a late arrival at 8.15pm driving from Dublin.
He ensured that not only did we have a hearty dinner, he also carried our heavy bags up to our second floor room.
Such a warm and friendly welcome to Ireland!

Stayed in the headfort arms for our 12 year anniversary, arrived and was given an upgrade on our room we wore delighted! (we stayed in room 2). The lady at the reception checking us in was lovely very informative and had a laugh with us, I never caught her name unfortunately. We ate in the Vanilla Pod restaurant I'm sure it was called, the food, drinks and service wore lovely. Breakfast was fast and very tasty! Downfall unfortunately for us was our sleep, the windows in the room did let alot of street noise in and possibly heat out as it did get cold even with the rad on full. The pillows in our room wore awful, 4 pillows on the bed 2 of them folded like paper and the other 2 wore like a brick, we didn't get a good nights sleep at all sadly, we also had a coffee machine with plenty of options for tea & coffee but no cups in the room to make any. Due to the lack of sleep I'm not sure I'd come back to stay which is a same as the hotel itself is fabulous.Reddin - 10Scored 10

I would have liked to listen to trad music but there was no entertainment on week nights in any pub in Kells however there was a man playing the piano in the hotel on Wednesday evening unfortunately I didn't know till it was too late he had just finished playing as I walked in the door

Kells is a lovely village, made even more special by its people. Since we were there for a wedding, there was only enough time to walk its cobblestone streets. We stayed and ate at The Headfort Arms, a charming hotel with excellent food and every modern amenity. I recommend Hairitage, a beauty salon across the street from the hotel. It was better than expected, the house is beautifully furnished and all the little detailed furnishings are really special. The owner June had kindly baked us fresh bread and cake for when we arrived and left us supplies for breakfast. The place is very peaceful and the perfect location for visiting our family in Kells. Would highly recommend and will return.

The house and rooms are lovely but if you don't have a car, you are reliant on a taxi. The taxi drive into Kells is only 4 min (10€) but it is not walkable due to the layout of the roads. Lynch's taxi service was great as there was a lady driver who I felt very safe with, especially at night, when travelling as a woman on my own.JeanGermany

Both the supper and breakfast we had there were delicious, and there were gluten-free options. Our friend had a room in the older part which was more traditional and cozy, but our newer room was also very comfortable.

The room is so big, dining table, comfortable seating, desk, tv, decent bed, comfort, hood blinds, not madly hot, great bathroom, spotless and the breakfast is the best. This beats any hotel. Wifi is perfect too.
