The room was really tidy and the equipment was totally amazing. I like the rest room on the second floor with the balcony. Amazing.

Very friendly staff! They also stored my bag for free after check out while I was waiting for my train and offered me to try Granita in addition to good breakfast which was included. The room was clean and comfortable.

Unaware that ferry arrival at almost midnight was at a cargo terminal, miles from anywhere, no taxis but helped by kind crew member. Nervous as solo traveller but most accommodating receptionist guided me by phone into stay. Tramline on waterfront easy access to station.
Only stopping point to Palermo - can’t judge attractions.

Messina is a pretty city in a beautiful spot that is off the radar for most travelers.
The cathedral, rebuilt after the 1908 earthquake, is beautiful, with Byzantine mosaics in the apses that miraculously survived. The clock tower mechanical clock is spectacular even though it only operates once a day.
The regional museum is full of treasures that were salvaged from churches destroyed in the earthquake. The highlights are two Caravaggios and an Antonello da Messina triptych.
Interestingly, Messina appears not to promote itself. The tourist office seemed to always be closed. I ended up asking in shops what sights to see, how to get to them on busses, and for restaurant recommendations. Locals were very glad to help me with that information.

we stayed 4 nights, allowing enough time t spend in Messina as well as use it as a base to travel to other Sicily locations. it had great walkability although the sidewalks/curbs were a little challenging with a suitcase. the noon Duomo show was definitely a highlight

The town is Ok for a day & night.
The town is Ok for a day & night. The cathedral at 12pm is the biggest thing in town and it is worth a look for the curious. Note all the bars around the square have a surcharge just to sit down - which they don't advertise. Try the Sri Lankan restaurants around town, delicious food at a great price.

we only stayed 3 nights, the area we stayed was very busy not far from ferry crossings. We visited Taormina and Cefalu, 2 nearby cities. Didn't get to see much of Messina itself. Did visit beach which was very nice.

Messina doesn't have a lot of attractions - the Camponile was interesting to see at midday, as well as the Norman cathedral, for which you could really see the Mudejar influence - something I found surprising for Italy.
OTOH, it also means there were fewer tourists about, which suited us to a tee.
If you are into hiking, it looks like the mountains above the city would have some nice trails with views out over both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas.
Very convenient hotel to get to from Messina Centrale and close to the city centre. Located in a beautiful old building, with the apartment inside newly renovated and spotlessly clean. Shared kitchen available with free coffee, snacks and water and cooking facilities. The staff were very friendly and accommodated my early check in at very short notice. Amazing views over the port. I booked for a short stay for convenience while travelling but would be perfect for a longer break. This place is excellent value for money.
The apartment is beautiful and super clean with comfort bed and pillows, just one minute walk from city centre. Rosario and Antonella are super nice, they have shared with us great places to visit and where to have dinner. There is parking just in front of the building and it can be payed with EasyPark app which is great to have installed when visiting Italy. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back.
We reserved a Humongous apart-hotel room which exceeded our expectations for its size, luxury, and details. Truly a lovely studio space, perfect for our needs (we wanted to hear up meals and make our own coffee and tea).
The receptionist was the Most lovely person we met in Sicilia!! Not just professional but also attention to details and our needs, flexible and warm, friendly. We give her 10/10!
This was probably the best place we have ever stayed at in Italy. The host was very friendly and welcoming with excellent communication. The apartment was so beautiful, with a great kitchen, lounge room and comfortable bedroom. The balcony was a bonus too - lovely view of both the mountains and the sea. Perfect for watching the sunset.
In Italy the breakfast is not exactly the continental size. Here you have perfect choice of whatever you need. Very good cofee and omelet. Great people and very kind. If visiting Messina this is a perfect choice. Parking nearly for free in front of the hotel. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Love the bathroom!!!
We stayed as an overnight stopover. The property is super clean, breakfast was good and substantial. The room was a good size and very clean. The host was great as he waited for us as he had an issue with the ferry coming from Calabria. Close to Messina city centre if you have a car.
This hotel offers stylish, comfortable rooms with a panoramic view of the harbour and the strait. The rooms are exactly as in the pictures, the attention to detail and quality is astonishing. The bed is good-sized and comfortable. The staff is super-friendly. Rituals toiletries.
It was really amazing, a bit more expensive than other places in Messina but definitely worth it. There is a huge TV in room with literally everything (netflix, disney plus, youtube) and the room is very clean. It genuinely look like a hotel room, would definitely recommend it!
Location near to the train station, staff spoke English, small balcony for breakfast, full set of toiletries, we were allowed to check-in really early (really appreciated), they sent me a proper invoice (not very common in Sicily :-/)
Really convenient, in the center of Messina, near the historic center and near the motorway junction. Clean and with all comforts. The owner is kind and helpful. I recommend it to everybody. How to find yourself at home.
Very new hotel with large rooms and high-quality furniture. Great option to stay while traveling in or out of Sicily, very close to ferry. There is no parking, but we still could park right in front of the hotel.
We were traveling around Sicily on bikes and we stayed at this venue in Messina the owner was kind to find for us a safe place to store the bicycles. The venue is very clean and in a brilliant location!
Almost everything. The hotel is a little gem, beautifully designed to almost the smallest detail (it's much better than it looks in the pictures). Room very clean and the staff super nice.
There is a beautiful view from this hotel overlooking the sea in one direction and the hills behind. A nice garden area with pool gives the feeling of a small resort.
