Stresa is a beautiful town with lovely walks along the lake. The apartment was comfortable and beautifully decorated and well equipped for our stay. The train was about a 10 minute walk and has easy access to Milan and also to Switzerland. It was very quiet when we went and perhaps will visit when busier as some thing were still closed such as two of the islands but it was early in the year before the season began. A very picturesque town right on the water. However most restaurants were closed in February, the shops were closed on Monday and there was very little to do except take the ferry to Isola Pescatore and Isola Madre. One of my all-time favorites. I like to come back over and over, again. Nice atmosphere and charming town center. One of the best gelaterias !!! Great restaurants and nice to just hang out. The Borromean Islands and the hermitage Santa Caterina are great places to visit - or you can go to the other side of the lake, even the Swiss part Overall, people are very friendly

Proximity to the lake was excellent. Majority of restaurants very good, some pricier than others of course but several with sensible prices. The food on the whole was excellent and plenty of it. The owners of the restaurants and their staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. the fish featured prominently on all the menus and was excellent and fresh.

Not very much to do historically - BUT wonderful for restaurants, ice cream shops, views of the lake. A really good centre for a holiday on Lake Maggiore. We had a lovely time in Stresa. Lots a nice little restaurants to eat and bars to drink. People very friendly. Has a nice atmosphere about the place. You could stay in Stresa or go out and about to other places all easily accessible. Would defiantly go back to visit the lake.

There was nothing you could fault about the place. Everything is in excellent condition. Cristina and Fabio are fantastic hosts. From special treats being baked to offering to take and pick you up from either the station or local restaurants. Love the location and could never get enough of the views. The piazza is adjacent with a great assortment of restaurants. Giovanni the owner lives close and is very helpful . The property is VERY quiet so it made for great sleeping despite being close to the piazza. Stresa is a great base for Lake Maggiore, day trip to Milan and the Maggiore Express day trip too. And it’s a lovely town too!

Location is perfect and having our room facing the lake was amazing! The views from the lake view rooms are gorgeous. It was great that the hotel offers free parking at the nearby location (and its covered!), you have to walk there few blocks but it was not a problem for us.
