A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
Property was exceptional, clean space, lots of amenities inside the room and facilities are super well maintained. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The hotel is also located close to major areas ( 5 min walk from JR Hakodate station, right across Hakodate morning market ekini, 3 min walk from the nearby tram station or 7 min away from the Hakodate ekimae tram stop) and there are multiple konbinis nearby. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visitinf Hakodate!!!
Have a late night arrival on train into Hakodate so this was a great option. Hotel can be reached from inside the train station so you do not need to be out in the cold. Room was spacious and clean. I appreciated that I could open up the window. I stayed in a twin room and toilet and shower were in separate rooms. We had a view of the market. Despite being near train station it was relatively quiet, and I had a nice sleep.
I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers going to Hakodate. It is centrally located (literally right across from the JR Hakodate station), and the main sites were easily accessible from the hotel. The main Yokocho area is a 5 min walk from the hotel, and the best part is that the rooms were clean, large, and very reasonably priced. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
This hotel was the second APA i stayed at and it was still really good value for money. All the way on the northern island of japan it was in a really good location just 5-10 mins away from Hakodate station and had many places nearby that you could go to eat or drink at. There was also a tram stop right outside so it would be easy to get around the city as well.
Very good location as it is 2 minutes walk from the Hakodate station and bus station to go to the Hakodate Mountain rope way.
Unlimited room amenities. The reception and all the staff at the hotel were very kind and welcoming.
The hot spa (daiyokujyou) and sauna at the hotel were so relaxing and amazing.
Delicious breakfast with a wide variety of food.
Huge apartment style room. Service from all staff are incredible and made our 4 days stay very memorable. We walked from the hotel to Red Brick House and slowly stroll to Mt Hakodate Ropeway. Plenty of restaurants around the area. Highly recommend the conveyor sushi near JR Station (Nemoru Hanamaru), had our best meal there with reasonable pricing.
Amazing breakfast! I shipped my luggage directly to the hotel when arrived at Hakodate airport and just dive into visiting empty handed. The staffs were very friendly and thoroughly introduced the amenities and hot springs. Great location, close to the JR station and bus terminal, and minutes-walking distance to the hakodate morning market.
The hotel is really clean and cozy, we felt really welcomed there
The staff was welcoming, everything was provided
You can buy small stuff like instant soups
Breakfast was amazing, a wide variety of western and Japan cuisine
It's situated right next to a tram station
If I'll ever be in Hakodate again, I'll definitely come back
We loved our very clean spacious room, the warm welcome and care of our hosts. They embodied the spirit of a ryokan or good niche hotel. Not in terms of luxury but by their hospitality. The location is perfect, and, as we noted, staying here in this lovely decorated place was a worthwhile attraction of Hakodate in itself.
1. Good location, that has convenience store right below the hotel. There is a tram station and a few bus stops (slightly away from the hotel) that goes to Hakodate Station. Walkable distance to Goryokaku Koen.
2. Good spread of breakfast buffet
3. Room size was slightly bigger than the average room size in Tokyo.
We did not book the hotel at the city center, but the location of this hotel is closed to the ocean and closed to the airport and public transportation. Our room has a beautiful ocean view and hot spring in the room. Breakfast is great too. The staffs are friendly and helpful, helping us booking the local restaurant.
Fabulous hotel in a great location. Close to Train station and buses. Surrounded by great little restaurants and bars. Hot springs are sensational and rooms very comfortable. Loved the free ice creams , drinks, and free wine bar in the evenings. Would highly recommended staying here if visiting Hakodate.
This hotel is very near the Hakodate Station and across the street from the morning market. It has an upscale feel, and the staff were extremely solicitous. The 13th floor bar made the experience: impressive views out over the lights of Hakodate and the harbor, very good drinks, pleasant atmosphere.
Location - The location is 5 min form Hakodate station JR
The room is very clean and also the water pressure is one of the best, I haven’t been to some many countries and hotel
This is the 2 time I have stay here within 1 year, on both of my trip, next time when I go back I will stay here again
This was a very cozy hotel with very friendly staff, we arrived a day late cause of flight delays and we had no problem checking in immediately and resting in our room. The location was also very good, quite walkable to the main tourist areas in Hakodate
I am absolutely love this hotel. I believe this is the one of the best and convenient hotels in the Hakodate area. The common area of lounge near the public bath is so relaxing. Very close to station. I hope price for this hotel will be kept accessible.
The staff here are helpful and bilingual in Japanese and English. The check in and check out process was easy. The hotel itself is stunning! Great room design, stylish foyer, and lots of information about Hakodate.
Very good location, reasonable price and friendly staff. it's exceeded my expectation, I think I will choose this hotel again if I have the chance to travel to Hakodate in the future.
