Every now and then you stay in accommodation that makes you wish you were able to live in permanently, and consider redecorating your own house. This is one of those places. The owners have exquisite taste in terms of decor, and at the same time have created a comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Small details (you can try their impressive tea collection and enjoy the equally impressive record and CD collection) make this so much more than just another hotel/apartment. The staff in the cafe downstairs are very friendly, and for a drink and something light to eat I would not bother going anywhere else. Vianden is a lovely town to walk around, visit the castle or do a bit of hiking.
Set in a traditional house, Youth Hostel offers dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms and free Wi-Fi. It is situated in the village centre, less than 200 metres from Vianden Castle.

- The hostel was easy to find and well deserved by different bus lines
- I had the full room for myself during my 4 nights stay
- at some point I was the only one in the morning for breakfast and the canteen lady simply asked me what I wanted and bring it to me
- Good heating system
- decent bed
- The view from the window
- Good WIFI

A lovely place to visit for a number of reasons - attractions, hiking, dining etc. Easy to get to but within the town can be hard to get around because it is on a hill. Riverside area is really relaxing.

Fantastic location in the heart of the Ardennes.
Fantastic location in the heart of the Ardennes. Obviously, in times past an important strategic crossing point for the River Our. Plenty of architectural history and the "Disney land" chateau overlooking the town.
Most of the time. its a quiet medieval town, but walnuts are a important part of the local economy, and the second weekend in October is the annual walnut festival. They close the historic town centre on Sunday and the town goes mad, with thousands of visitors. So if you want a hotel room that weekend make sure you book early.

It's a pity the crisis has left its mark as a few places now seem to be closed. On the whole, though, it is still a lovely town, very picturesque and, if you have time, do not forget the castle.
By the way, the Du Pont restaurant is a cheap but good place to eat and has a lovely view of the river and the bridge.

The castle has a good structure and artifacts to see. I miss of one access to see the Vianden city on the top, cause this is blocked on the way.

A really beautiful and quaint little village. The castle is well worth the trip. A really informative, self guided tour. A very enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Vianden itself is a photographer's dream. Just so scenic and peaceful.

Beatiful and charming.
Beatiful and charming. A nice little town for whoever likes to visit places where a lot of history has been preserved. It´s quite a hilly region, which ads to the charm, whereas the rest of Luxembourg tends to be more flat.
The location of the cottage is beautiful. On the hill overlooking Vianden only a 15 minute walk from the city center (a walk which initially looks more steep and challenging then it actually is)
The cottage is very well equipped and was very clean. Although the location is slightly remote, it was very easy to find. The owner is very pleasant and friendly.
If you want to go and explore Vianden and it's surroundings for a few days, We would definitely recommend staying at the Vianden cottage.
A lovely hotel on the bank of the river adjacent to the bridge - a fantastic spot. We had a big room with a view of the castle from one side and a lovely view into the village from the other. The restaurant provided lovely food with great service. Breakfast wasn't anything special but we saw our first communal egg boiler which was a fun gimmick.
Very nice and charming hotel!
Our room was modern and spotless clean!
The owners were very friendly, the staff speak multiple languages, breakfast was served on tables and was tasty. Reserving parking at the hotel is highly recommended, it is right downtown and public parking is further away, only a few lots and was always full.
Nice hotel in the town. The reception guy was super helpful and nice, as we're all the staff.
We put our motorbikes in the garage which was good as the car park looked full.
Room was spacious and clean with all you need.
Bed was a bit soft for my preference but that's a subjective subject.
Personally I don't need a television in my room or my own bathroom, so I'm happy to see that hotels like these still exist. The hotel could be so much better though, just a bit of love, some detergents and better communication and it could easily become a 7 or 8
Right at the centre, close to the bus stop. The rooms mostly have a good view. It is very convenient as it is close to the lake and also at walking distance to the chair lift to Vianden castle. Decent breakfast available.
The hostel was in a beautiful location right next to the Vianden castle. The staff was very polite and provided us food even though we were late. The hostel is well maintained. We got it for a pretty good deal.
very friendly staff, nice boutique style hotel, super nice breakfast and breakfast-service and perfectly located in Vianden for visiting the castle and enjoying the surrounding village
A small hotel with a nice midevil style, very friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast and has Parkingspace for motorcycles, looking forward to our next stay!
