We were drinking and a bit loud, one of the staff came up to us to ask us to keep it quiet, no aggro at all, I'll definitely stay there again 😁

Enjoyed a lovely walk around Picton and along the coastline. Did a fabulous half day morning boat trip cruising around Charlotte Sound which was great, and ate dinner at the Oxley Hotel, also very good.

We loved the harbour views!
We loved the harbour views! There was also a good selection of cafes and restaurants, which all had friendly service and competitive pricing. We enjoyed our one-night stay and walked everywhere with ease.

Charming waterfront and very child friendly.
Charming waterfront and very child friendly. The pirate boat play area and splash pad is so nice for the little ones. We only walked around the centre up to the walkway bridge which present a marvelous view. As we are not trekkers, we only passed by Picton to proceed to Nelson from Wellington, and as overnight stop for the Interisland ferry back. There were many road closures when we visited. Perhaps next time, we will explore the surrounds.

A lovely little town with some fabulous walks.
A lovely little town with some fabulous walks. Stay a couple of days after getting off the ferry instead of just driving through. ( Although a little busy when a cruise ship arrived in port, but they are not there every day!)

The ferries between the north and south island arrives/leaves from Picton. You can kayak, dine or hit the Queen Charlotte Track. The track is a total of 70km with accommodation along the way. The views are stunning, the track well maintained, the lodges comfortable and offering great meals.

we were only there overnight, we took an early morning Ferry. the motel was in a great location, we could walk around town and to our restaurant for an evening meal. the reception Lady was wonderfully helpful
This is a very small hotel (only 3 rooms) which only adds to its charm. Its location in the centre of Picton is an additional benefit as it is only a couple of minutes' walk from shops and nearby facilities. The old world style of decor ,the large rooms which are spotless and supremely comfortable has to be experienced. The restaurant is closed for evening meals , but the welcome touch of a wine and cheese plate is a unique touch. Breakfast is offered and sets you up for the day ahead.
I would love to stay here again.
Unbelievable! We saw a rare native white spoonbill wading in front of the hotel. And ducks visited us for bread. I wish we could have stayed longer as it was calm and idyllic. This hotel is now our favourite and we will be staying every time we drive through. Wonderful lady greeted us and made us feel at home. Cleanliness is extremely important to me, and the place was spotless. The linen was perfect and the bed comfortable.
Thank you so much 😊
Owners are very friendly and helpful
The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable
Area right in town and pretty quiet considering being right in the middle.

Food awesome in the two hotels three shops either side of motel

Amazing facilities in an old amazing kept accomodation, if you want something really cosy and fabulous while visiting Picton, this is the spot for you. Only one regret we have, that we stayed there only one night, it is really great and the family who is taking care of the property are doing a tremendous job, well done, this is the best way.
Great people and great location. My host really helped with onwards travel and keeping luggage. Even gave me hand written suggestions for my travels in South Island. I booked because another travels said how friendly they were. Well, I endorse that. A fantastic change from hotels. Thoroughly recommend it. Wish I had stayed longer. Edward.
Although the size of the room was not exactly large, it was one of the best accommodations I've had. This place has some New Zealand "spirit" and good vibe. It is in the center of Picton so everything is really close (1 to 5 min walk). Tiny small room with everything you need. Will book again.
The location is spot on, virtually waterfront and a room with a view. I love Picton and think its underrated. This motel is fine and reasonably priced for its facilities and convenience. Well functioning bathroom, extra pillows etc and comfortable.
The small lodge huts were all we needed for our two single night stays either side of walking the Queen Charlotte. Picton Top 10 also gave us safe storage of our car and mountain bikes. The shower block was clean and the staff were helpful
the hotel's location was perfect. Just a short walk to the town centre and a number of good watering holes and meals.
The room was very clean and fully stocked to make the stay enjoyable.
If asked I wouldn't hesitate to say go for it
Good location for ferry. Room are simple but clean and relatively cheap. Facilities are good and the staff are pleasant. This is the first time we have stayed here but will be booking again when we next pass through Picton.
Super helpful friendly host who went out of her way to recommend things to see/do in Picton and helped arrange the same. also got a fabulous desert treat after dinner one night. She was terrific.
This property benefits from its location and the views of the harbor from most or all of its rooms. It is an older hotel that has been fairly well upgraded to meet modern standards and style.
Location is fine, although to be fair everything in Picton is within walking distance really.
WIFI was Ok
Shower strength was good.
Has a few off street parking spots.
I enjoyed my stay at Picton House. Although my room was small, it had everything I needed. The included breakfast was very good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Hotel for the most part is nice, room and bathroom were both very spacious, and it had a pool view. Comfy bed, and good location for the plug sockets by it.
