This is a magnificent hotel in a beautiful setting, both of which really warrant a visit. The staff at the front desk were also truly exceptional and deserve a special mention. They were friendly, helpful and easygoing, while running the hotel to a very high standard, which all just made staying here an extremely enjoyable experience.

Charming little castle with so friendly owners! The room was very clean and the breakfast really good. We appreciated the willingness to provide us with an extra service like earlier check-in, olives and pickles for our wine in the evening or earlier breakfast. The place is beautiful and has a magic garden with a pool. We were really happy.
Parque de campismo de Luso provides a public bath and free private parking, and is within 46 km of University of Aveiro and 47 km of Congressional Center of Aveiro.

We stayed in Luso for two nights and enjoyed our time. It is remote so we did not feel as though we needed more time there than we had but we did visit the local spa which we enjoyed and we had the best meal all trip in town!
Definitely worth stopping in at.

The town is well worth a visit.
The town is well worth a visit.
It was a shame we didn't have more time fo the thermal baths - they're not open on a Sunday.
Buçaco forest is magical, make lots of time to go there and spend at least a full day.
If you can stay in the Palace, it is well worth it.

The Bussaco Castle was beyond our expectations, the hotel staff were amazing, a representative showed us the lobby area and the amenities prior to our room arrival after our check in. We had a fantastic room (The Queen room). There are several activities to do such the visit to the convent/museum, the shop, and long walking trails in the forest, this was an incredible stay for us to celebrate a very special event, we had dinner at the hotel and the dinner was superb, the bartender knows how to make great mix drinks, the entire staff in the hotel were welcoming, friendly and courteous. This castle is truly one of a kind and highly recommend it to my friends!

Located in the heart of the Serra do Bussaco, Palace Hotel do Bussaco is an excellent example of Manueline-Gothic architecture. Its richly decorated corridors feature antique furnishings, large paintings and traditional Portuguese glazed tiles. Bussaco National Forest is wonderful.

Luso itself is a small nineteenth-century spa town--not much to do there except 'take the waters' (which my wife did, very enthusiastically) and walk in the national forest. It's a place for the sensitive, quieter traveller, rather than someone seeking thrills and excitement.
The property is beautiful. We arrived after rain and the garden was lush and inviting. It was unfortunately too cool to use the pool (in late June - rainy week!), but it was still inviting. The hotel is historic with lots of character. we had the triple room and the shower was heavenly with lots of pressure (must be all that Luso water!). We had a lovely view to the garden. Breakfast was ample and diverse; very filling. The hotel is a short walk into town. We’d absolutely stay again at this property.
A true palace stay in a beautiful building fit (and made for) a king. The surrounding gardens are a national treasure. We were there on a cold, rainy February day and still loved our walk around the grounds. Breakfast was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had at a hotel. The evening meal at the restaurant was also very good. I can't stress enough the beauty of the building decor. Staff was warm and hospitable despite the stunning palatial setting. Ample parking.Very comfortable bed.
We spend in hotel four nights as my nephew participated in compition. The hotel is one of the oldest in Portugal (how we understood) so don't expect any new things, but for us it was perfect. The breakfast sattisfated us, swimming pool was great and even can enjoy with coctails (very kind girle who works in bar). The parking is safe, but hotel not guarentee that you will have space. However we spend good time and the staff was very friendly.
It’s a large family managed hotel, with a familiar sense.
It has a lovely spacious sitting room by reception and a
working lift to get you to your room. The cleaning staff
are very friendly and the hotel owner is a legend.
It’s located right in the middle of Luso centro so all is in
reach. The bedroom has good air conditioner which is
brilliant for the hot days.
This hotel has loads of potential and I know it’s being
improved each year.
Wonderful location near Luso and Mealhada. Amazing property tucked away on small hill. There are citrus trees, a nice garden and beautiful old trees. Plenty of space in the room and access to the house living room for reading or TV in the evening. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh jam, fresh squeezed OJ, and much more, served in a formal dining room. Pool wasn’t open (it was March) but you can sit next to it and enjoy the garden/sun.
A beautifully decorated hotel that made me feel like I was transported back in time. Very clean. Ample room and a balcony. Swimming pool. Walkable into town if you are interested in a restaurant, bar, or the thermal spa. Breakfast was bountiful, diverse, and delicious. Pleasant staff. Hotel ambiance was noteworthy, especially all the clocks in the breakfast room. View.
The room had a fenomenal view, really beautiful. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The amenities were good. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows too. It was very cold outside however inside it was really warm and cosy. Great TV. All fabulous!!! Actually the hotel is very quite, we slept like Kings! The architecture is marvelous.
The Vila was walking distance to the spa and town of Luso. The beautiful grounds and Vila are being carefully renovated. our bath and shower we new and plenty of hot water. we had a sweet with two beds. one in the alcove and another in the main bedroom. perfect for friends to share. With parking in the driveway.
The owners and staff were helpful and wanted to make us feel at home.
They were able to fulfill special requests.
Each day our room was made up and a large bottle of beautiful Luso water was on the mantle waiting for us.
Very Large rooms with comfortable chairs and beds.
The hotel's location is excellent; being an old palace, the entire exterior is stunning, with a garden, and the construction of the building is phenomenal. The staff was accommodating, and the hotel had a good breakfast.
A big 100-year-old house surrounded by an old forest. Quiet location near (1km) the center of Luso. We were the only visitors that night, but the small breakfast prepared just for us was perfect.
Beautiful building with history attached to it ! Fantastic location with work wonderful views! Just perfect to visit luso ..
Hosts are just lovely couldn’t rate my stay high enough !!
Staff was welcoming and helpful. Good location, walk away from the center . Nice old style hotel. Fair breakfast, although coffee at the standards of Portugal was poor .
