Lovely hotel right on the waterfront, so very convenient to the beach, cafes , shops etc.The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had an evening meal and breakfast, which was very good. We had a car, with parking about an 8 minute walk away, but you must reserve in advance. There is a parking spot outside to drop off luggage. An enjoyable stay, thank you.

Great location! Breakfast was OK- standard. Could use a toaster. Parking was tricky but, luckily, we got a spot. Make sure to confirm w/hotel PRIOR.
Pretty good price for a short stay.

The view from our terrace was fabulous! We had an apartment, it was quite large and comfortable. The restaurant was superb, and we had dinner there for two nights. By the way, we stayed there 2 nights, not just one. I had made an error and had to book a single night twice.

Location was perfect. Extremely polite and helpful staff to the point of riding on the car with us to show us to the parking location and coming along to the laundromat to ensure all went right with the laundry.

Beautiful fishing village with real Portuguese flair.
Beautiful fishing village with real Portuguese flair. We have been there three times in the last 15 years. My wife's favorite and dream place. The city is slowly going through a transformation and is becoming more touristy, but we can't judge that hardly since we were always there before or after the season. On the weekends, we noticed a little negatively the many tourist buses that flooded the city for an afternoon.

Nazaré is beautiful.
Nazaré is beautiful. It's a great place to chill and watch the sea. The beach is wide and clean. All the restaurants and bars in the area (that we tried) were great. Shopkeepers were kind and helpful. Be sure to get up to the Lighthouse and check out the Surf Museum. Super cool. It's 2eu to get in and totally worth it. The views up there are awesome. Seriously, I have not one negative thing to say about it.

Nazare was wonderful. I wear accommodations were great.
Nazare was wonderful. I wear accommodations were great. Gil the manager was amazing with us. In fact my friend left her coat in the closet. When they cleaned the room he found it and sent me messages and mailed it to a spot where we could pick it up. That was amazing.
The apartment was adorable It was perfect for our purposes the view from one bedroom of the ocean was amazing. The view off the kitchen balcony was great and we could see the ocean as well. This is a perfect apartment for two people sometimes for.
I would certainly book that again if I were to be in that area. Thank you

Quaint little town with local vibes, great for a few days visit. It was very chilled and quiet and surrounded by beautiful forest. Cuisine is mainly fish and seafood, though there are plenty of Italian and meat places. Also choc a block with gelaterias!!! We caught Carnaval and it was fun to see the cavalcade and the locals dressed up.

What I liked best was seeing the big wave surf contest.
What I liked best was seeing the big wave surf contest. There were these amazing and huge 20-50 ft waves that arrived in sets located near the lighthouse on the cliff at the North Beach while I was in Nazare. The beach was also very nice and wide both north and south of the lighthouse. The sunsets were spectacular, and I enjoyed watching the sun set while drinking wine and people watching at the little beachside restaurants. I also enjoyed walking down south to the marina and going north to the surf museum at the lighthouse on the big cliff in the town of Sitio. The local bus only cost €1.50 to ride from Nazare (near the central market) to Sitio where the lighthouse is located. The traditional food (seafood) was really fresh and I liked that the tradition of fish drying that is done by the fish ladies was still being practiced.

Great beach but the real action is on the hill in Sitio...
Great beach but the real action is on the hill in Sitio where there are the great surf waves to be seen in the winter months and the very impressive display of surf boards and photos of the guys who've surfed the world's biggest waves in Nazare,
Antonio and his wife were awesome. There was a lot of rain and the arrival time got delayed for us. When we arrived our GPS took us a few blocks away from the apartment. Antonio helped us navigate to his place. They showed us everything we needed to know and had a bottle of wine and some muffins on the table waiting for us. It was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. While we were only in Nazare for a day, we did check out some sights and it is worth a stop when in Portugal.
One of the best guesthouse I have been during my road trip across Portugal. The room was cozy, warm, bright, finest decorated and it also has a nice view to the square and beach!
I really like the common kitchen where you can prepare yourself a tea or cooking something if you want
Cleanliness was super!
Breakfast served n the bar just in the front was also a good choice
Beautiful hotel. The best front desk people every time. Best location to beach. Great views of Nazare and the ocean. Had an issue arise, and the staff handled it perfectly and went the extra mile. The breakfast is up on the top floor with fantastic views all around. It was also tasty and generous. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would go back for sure!
first, the hostess(es) were exceptional in all respects - kind, caring, and supplied all of the answers for hiking to the North beach, best pubs, and then supplied our beach essentials. Breakfast is 5stars (for hotel style). We had the room with view and slept to sound of lapping waves. It may possibly have been our best European stay, ever. JAMES G
The appartement has sufficient space for 4 people, it is clean and beautiful, the kitchen is fully equipped. The parking spot in the basement garage is a big plus but the best thing about this appartement is the amazing view on the beach and it's close to everything on the Nazare coast. It is easily accessible. Vera and Nuno were really welcoming!
This place is everything! It is spotless and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The view is spectacular and the location is convenient to all that Nazaré has to offer. My husband and I traveled all over Portugal and stayed in 7 different places. Feel Nazaré was by far our favorite. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Very friendly and helpful staff - right to the point where they took you to the parking garage which is about 3 blocks away. Tight spot for parking but that seems common in Portugal. Excellent Breakfast. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Great bed and mattress. Location is good also. We would highly recommend this hotel.
-location to bus station, local market, beach…no hills and few short minutes to walk.
-apartment so well equipped…a real home.
-overall communication with the host was quick, informative and made our stay relaxing.
-Nazare is charming with an impressive beach.
-I would happily return if available.
Fantastic little apartment with good quality appliances. Extremely clean. Super big bed, quality linen, lovely plants, the right amount of hangers, heater in the bathroom (not a given in Portugal in winter), free parking very close by. Very easy check-in and check-out I strongly recommend it!
Very nice, new and modern apartment on a great location. 1 minute walk to the beach and located in the best part of Nazaré. Very helpful owner, easy to contact and quick response. She agreed to an early check in and a slightly later check out for our convenience.
I'm Sofia, a solo traveler who recently visited the By the Beach Hotel in Nazaré, Portugal. While the location is excellent and the room was clean and had a small view of the ocean, my experience was marred by a series of unsettling events.
Historic place, quaint and large rooms. Nice living room & library. Friendly & welcoming owner. Nice yard & surrounding garden. If you like to feel a bit of old Portugal, this is the place. Walking distance to village & a nice restaurant.
The location is very nice, near the Nazare beach, we had a room with the sea view, dinner in the hotel was delicious, there is possibility to drop off the baggage in front of the hotel and free parking in the garage 7 min walk away.
Comfortable and clean, equipped with all necessary stuff for a stay. Literally, the most comfortable place in Portugal I've stayed. The host is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
I like the hotel it’s close to everything it’s very clean breakfast is good it’s close to the beach I like it so much I stay there every year when I go to Portugal
Excellent location , views, kitchen, parking and very helpful person who greeted us. Nazare is a perfect place to relax as well as explore central Portugal.
Small hotel in the walking distance form the beach and city center of Nazaré. In the city is a very big problem with the parking. Room was small but clean.
