Everything exceeded my high expectations: breakfast was awesome, the views from the room and from restaurant were amazing, pools nearby and sauna in the hotel – best on Madeira. I'll definitely stay here again!
The 4-star Aqua Natura Madeira offers elegant rooms with Atlantic Ocean views in the fishing village of Porto Moniz, 45 km north of Funchal city centre. It offers a sauna on site.

The room had an amazing view from the balkony. Sleeping with the sound of the waves was great.. Breakfast was really nice, big choice of fruit, cheeses, warm dishes and pastries. When I arrived, I got a free entry to the natural pools which are definitely worth a visit! So much nicer than the usual hotel pools.
With ocean views, Hotel Euro Moniz is only 100 metres from the pools in Porto Moniz. All Euro Moniz’s rooms have a cable TV and a bathroom with a bathtub or a shower. Some rooms feature balconies.

I liked how close it was to the city center and also advise from the receptionist where to go for a 'light dinner'. Staff was really helpful and nice!

The staff was super friendly and helpful! The best thing was that we could use the facilities at other Aqua Natura hotels (pool, spa, gym) that were only 5-7 min walk from our unit. That option wasn't mentioned on Booking, so it was a nice surprise. We stayed at multiple hotels at Madeira and this was definitely THE best hotel we stayed at. It was all about the small things (a welcome drink, a small gift at check out, recommendations on hikes, planning and booking spa for us) arranged by the hotel staff that made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
Breakfast in terms of both service and variety was also exceptional!
Although the restaurant, located in the neighbouring unit, needs some improvements when it comes to service during lunch/dinner hours. I would consider a different restaurant for dinner.
Overall our stay here was so amazing it made me write this Booking-review, which I never do :) It really exceeded all expectations!

Loved the sea pools, with cafe for after swim drinks. and the peaceful evening walks. Easy to catch a bus further afield. Harder to get to levada walks than I expected, and I would avoid the ones that come back down steep hills to coast - rough and dangerous surfaces

This is not a sand beach vacation.
This is not a sand beach vacation. There are tidal pools to swim in if the weather cooperates. Be aware that the north side of the island is cooler and more likely to rain. We enjoyed our 2 night stay by the ocean but that was enough

Very good base to explore north-west side of the island
Nice option if you want to cool down in the pool-there are actually 2 spots with ocean water, one more natural than the other, both can have better tourism services and catering options

A beautiful little town with the most beautiful swimming in Madeira in natural pools with sea water and sea fish. Protected from the waves and great for bathing and swimming, in a beautiful wild nature surrounded by rocks. Everything is close by car, the most beautiful levadas, the Fanal forest. Really spend more days.

We were driving around Madeira Island for 8 days & Porto Moniz was 1 of the most scenic area, beautiful rocky formations with the natural pools. We only stayed overnight, but wished we could have spent more time here, experience swimming the natural pools. Beautiful instamagramable picturisque views. We highly recommend Porto Moniz.

Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
the ocean view is amazing.
The city has both natural and paid natural pools, where the only option is to swim.
if you are a fish lover, there are really many good restaurants in this city.
for us, the tastiest fish was Espada.
It is also a great place to visit the Fanal forest, the Telegrafico gondola and the Rabacal area.
for us, who are fans of bends, steep roads, beautiful nature and of course the sea, this part of the island was the most beautiful.
Everything was perfect from our check-in to check-out. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us welcome drink, the bottle of sparkling wine on the room and also little gifts during our check-out. On breakfast you have really wide-choose of food and also dinner was very tasty. Infinity pool on the roof is excellent with great view on the ocean. Also gym was well-equipted what is not really common in hotels. Overall I totally recommend to stay at this hotel if you want to enjoy your holiday in Madeira.
The hotel is located in the center of the tourist part of Porto Moniz. It is a two-minute walk from natural pools which are the most famous attraction. You can choose real natural pools (free entrance) or a bit improved pools (entrance 1,5EUR). More than 5 restaurants are near the hotel. In my opinion, all of them are very good. Porto Moniz is a quiet place when crowds of tourists from Funchal leave in the afternoon. This place is a good starting point for exploring west of Madeira.
This amazing house is on top of a hill near Porto Moniz. We were welcomed by a clean, tidy and modern house with a breathtaking view on the balcony. The rooms were on the ground floor which also had balconies with a sea facing view. The house is very huge and we had the whole property for ourselves. We had a great time during our stay. The place is half an hour drive from Seixal Beach, Reibera Da Janela, Ponta da Ladeira etc. I would always recommend this stay.
We had room 109 with the fantastic view over the embankment. Ideal location for a few night stay in Porto Moniz. Nice breakfast. Two minute walk from the natural pools. The owner is very kind and helpful. Beds were comfy. The small supermarket nearby. Place has free parking lot from 5 p.m. till 11 a.m. just in front of the hotel (but it very quickly can be full). I guess it's one of the best stays on that part of island! I'd recommend it.
We have chosen this accommodation for the second time. The suite is extra large, has two terraces with a fantastic view of Porto Moniz. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, there is a microwave oven as well as a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a fireplace in the living room for cold evenings. The beds are comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by a bottle of Madeira wine and cookies prepared for us. Thank you :-)
The atmosphere is very natural and wild, the hotel being not too big. View and the room was amazing as was the check-in hotel staff. The design and layout of the room is great and the mattress is super comfortable and well insulated. Overall the location and area was absolutely gorgeous! Fantastic value for money, and we would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Porto Moniz.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Welcoming drinks at the arrival, sparkling wine at the room. Spacious room with huge bed and even bigger pillows. Free access to the natural pools. As pools were too cold for us, we enjoyed the jacuzzi zone on the hotel roof. Breakfast was nice, with many fruit options and a nice view. Good value for money.
The location is excellent. 25 m distance to Porto Moniz Natural Pools and the ocean. We kept windows open in order to enjoy the ocean sounds during the night.
There is pay-based parking close to the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and made an effort to accommodate special dietary restrictions.
Very large house, pictures didn't do it justice. Great facilities for cooking and washing clothes. Great value as well.
Lovely private outdoor area to relax. Not far from Porto moniz for the pools, and a nice bar down the road for the best poncha in Madeira and close to the levada walk
The room was quite spacious and comfortable, with a great view over the harbour and along the coast. The roof top pool area was nice too. Porto Moniz is a small place anyway, but the location of the hotel was great. We had an excellent evening meal and the venison was very good.
the only thing we liked was the staff, it was very cheap so we basically had no expectations.
If you want to safe some money and just enjoy the beautiful island of madeira this place is perfect. If you want a quality hotel go somewhere else and pay more
Porto Moniz is a great place with the ocean and the natural pools. The lady at the reception was very welcoming and friendly. My room at Aqua Natura Studios opened to a patio which unfortunately had no view, but very much privacy.
The staffs are friendly and the location is amazing. The apartment is located super closed to beautiful natural swimming pool Porto Moniz (2 mins walk) and many many nice restaurants, groceries. Atmosphere is great!
Quite well located, sea view rooms are real sea view, even though the view is a little bit further, the balcony is pretty nice to enjoy a beer or a coffee by watching the sea and the natural swimming pools.
Great location. It was more than we expected.
Everything close by - swimming pools and market.
It was very good choice. We wish owner to put more pictures from balcony- view of the ocean is amazing!
It's a spacious, clean and well equipped apartment. Location is excellent - very central to all Porto Moniz attractions, restaurants, hiking routes etc.
Great base to explore the north of Madeira.
Very nice place with a great host always available.
Room was very clean and perfect location right in front of the natural swimming pool.
Nice breakfast in the morning with bread, eggs and ham.
Great location. Easy access to everything you would need in Porto Moniz. Nice garden patio. Super cute decor. TV with Netflix in case of those endless rainy days:)
Charming little village near Porto Moniz, everything's close. Spectacular view from the window, cozy apartment and lovely host. We enjoyed our stay there
