People were very friendly/helpful and the place looked very nice with nice décor. Bed was super nice and comfortable and the cleaning was done every day impeccably. Common kitchen space was a very nice/useful space.
Second time we stayed here, in Porto room and it was awesome, super pretty the room.

Setubal is not a big city but it is quite lively. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and a lot to explore. The tourist information is great for advice and bookings. It is recommended to visit the national park, the Troia peninsula is good for a stroll and dolphin watching is great.

There is a variety of activities here.
There is a variety of activities here. Parts of the city are in decline, common in many Portugal cities, but likewise there are other areas that are very nice. We are seniors, 67 yo, and we walked everywhere, even at night, to restaurants, and felt quite safe. The main area of Avenida Luiza Todi has many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants with a variety of cuisines. Nice grocery Pingo Doce right there. Very helpful Tourism Office. There are a couple Museums, working waterfront, and a linear park through the center of the city with cafes, sculptures, benches and fountains. Some wonderful plazas and squares.
A short drive to a beautiful beach, and a mountaintop National Park, with hiking and fantastic views. We drove over this and visited wineries to taste wine. A very nice area less hectic than some areas of Lisbon, just 1/2 hour away.
Setùbal has an absolutely amazing public market on the Avenida Luiza Todi. We were only here for three nights, but could have found more to do with a longer visit.

I stayed three nights and that was perfect length to do a trip outside and see the city and castle and try some fresh grilled fish on the restaurants. Go to Setubal to experience a little rough side of Portugal for budget travellers it is also less expensive than many other cities in Portugal. For golfers stay in Setubal, Troia Island were very sleepy after 18.00.

I must admit, I'm torn between sharing the secret of Setúbal's beauty and wanting to keep this gem all to myself. The stunning beaches, delectable food, breathtaking views, and warm-hearted locals are like treasures I'd like to hoard. However, if you decide to visit Setúbal, just savor the experience as I do every time I'm there, and you'll understand why I'm so reluctant to let go of this hidden paradise.

Check was really easy.
Check was really easy. Entrance hall is nice but room lacked some soul- no pictures or colour etc. Shower was tired but it was clean. Slightly out of town, and up a hill, we were fine as fit bit disabilities might struggle. It did the job as it was a 1 night stop off.

Anyone driving to Setubal needs to know that they have recently introduced a zonal parking system and there is little long stay parking available.
Apart from this we found Setubal to be a beautiful City with loads of lovely parks, riverside promenades, narrow streets with plenty of small squares and a surprising amount of street entertainment, including fire-eaters. On top of this the nearby Beaches are outstanding
We absolutely loved our stay here. The location is perfect! Right in the middle of everything, and yet it is very quiet at night. The apartment is spacious and beautifully designed with everything that you need - we felt immediately at home. There was even brown sugar and q tips! The host is super friendly, and checkin and checkout were very easy, Setubal is an amazing town to visit, lots to do and all of the restaurants and cafes are nearby. Looking forward to returning soon!
The TV do not work , also the internet was not working it’s a small hotel in the middle of no were but as a hotel guest if you don’t book in avance a table to eat at the only restaurant they have , they are not able to accommodate you so we wen to bed after a all day traveling with out having dinner, plus they cut the water from 21hrs to next morning at 6am so we don’t have the chance to shower before going to be after a long day of traveling from our home country to Portugal.
Great guesthouse, great staff, comfortable rooms, easy communication, flexible check-in, friendly welcome. Our room on the upper floor was nice and very quiet (we did not hear the close train). The advice the owner give for beaches and food is fantastic, authentic local restaurants which we never would have found without the recommendation. Setubal is a vibrant original city with wonderful beaches in the natural park nearby. We regretted not to have stayed longer.
Beautiful interior and fully self contained unit accessed from street level, with space for underground bike storage which helped (as we are touring Portugal and Spain by bike). Pedro the son who met us was very helpful and friendly, & we let him know in advance our approximate arrival time. Shower great, bed comfortable, and kitchen perfect to make dinner and breakfast (we only, unfortunately, stayed one night). Absolutely would love to stay again if in Setúbal
The location is superb. It’s literally in the heart of the city/district. Right at downtown and with a 2-min walk from anywhere, even the incredible sightseeing of the ocean.
It’s clean. It’s comfortable. It’s silent during nights. The staff is helpful. You have a McDonald’s in the building next door for any inconvenience.
There’s not much more to say. If you visit Setúbal, stay here.
The staff was very welcoming when we arrived and made our check-in a breeze. The entire hotel is modern and very clean, as was our room. The area is very quiet at night and has plenty of parking at the lot across from the hotel, which is free. In the morning I had breakfast on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the free Wi-Fi, which had good bandwidth. It was good value for the money.
Everything you could think of the property had. If you wanted to bbq, go to the beach (had the towels), games to play, trash bags (we found a lot of places in Portugal do not provided). Out of all the places we stay in Portugal which was 6, this by far was the best.
It felt like a home away from home. When we come back we will definitely stay.
The place is absolutely stunning - bonus for having an AC. Close to the train station - perfect location close to numerous restaurants and extremely close to the ferry if you're thinking of heading into Trioa! In Setubal itself you have the option of walking to the beach or taking the bus - all very doable! Location is just amazing!
Second time we stay at Cafofos da Zeta. The location is as best as you can get in Setubal, walking distance to restaurant, bars and cafes and a very short car ride to the beach.
The apartment w newly renovated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner is very helpful and friendly, will definitely go back.
Casa Palmela is a magical place. The grounds, vinyerds are stunning. Staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, relaxing. Our room was spacious bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was huge. We only stayed one night. I wish we stayed more time.
All the common areas look new and clean. The pool is great and they have few pickle ball courts.
The rooms are not so well maintained as the rest of the hotel, but it’s ok. complementary breakfast was very good. great variety of foods!
Our hotel room was on the top floor (floor 9) and as all rooms have balconies we had super views of the distant beaches and blue sea, of Bomfit Park below and the football stadium to our right. Room was great as was our experience.
Everything was perfect! Great Hotel with great staff! Breakfast and dinner were really delicious!! It placed in very quite area. There lots of restaurants around! In Setubal is one of the greatest fish and seafood market!
Great hotel. Nice, helpful staff. Clean modern updated rooms. Nice breakfast and nice option of dinner. Free underground parking. Near to marketplace eateries. Great overlook of city.
The flat is very beautiful, beds are very comfortable and the position is close to Setúbal center.
Excellent solution for few days off in Portugal, thanks again Tatiane.
Very good place to stay close to Lisbon and the Serra da Arrabida. Special thanks to Luis for the warm welcome and all the good tips about the best sights of Setubal.
