Architecturally speaking, a great hotel.
Other than the helpful and kind front desk staff, that's where the kudos finish.
Indeed, the rooms are tired, the carpets are stained and ragged, and the gorgeous 80s designed woodwork for which this hotel was cutting edge is marked, water stained, and in need of a coat of varnish.
The public hallways reek of air freshener, not in a good way, and the floor lighting is full of dust and cobwebs. Would it kill them to clean them once in 20 years?
The beds were comfortable, the balconies are spacious, but those damn mint green carpets!
Enough about that. Any hotel that serves pancakes from a machine after having Michelin Stars pasted in the front lobby deserves scathing reviews. The breakfast was grim, the boiled egg yolks were black and they were cheap with pretty much...everything.
Even though the buffet breakfast room was busy, there was not enough food, or it was cold and stale.
In general, this hotel needs some good management, because the clientele who stay there seem to arrive in high end cars. Good luck.
This beautiful and charming hotel is harmoniously integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, offering comfortable, modern accommodation off the beaten track.
Boasting city views, Villa Regio provides accommodation with a patio, around 1.5 km from Praia Azul Sul.

The room was quaint and spotless, in a beautiful old building with lovely bright artwork on the walls, an ornate stairwell, lovely host who gave us all the information we needed about the metro, restaurants, shops, etc. The location was perfect, 5 minutes to the metro, 5 minutes to little supermarkets, 10 minutes down to the beautiful beach, warm and close to a beautiful big cathedral-type church.

Vila do Condo upon first sight looks nice. It’s on the river and the square with the flowers is really nice. Once you go out of the square and into the town you see that it is very run down and unkept. The local youths didn’t take kindly to our accompanying teenage football team and on one evening chased a group of them out of town threatening violence towards them. This is one location I will not return to

Vila do Conde is a pretty town on the coast.
Vila do Conde is a pretty town on the coast. Easy to get to from Porto on the Metro. We also had a day out to Povoa de Varzim on the metro which is just a couple of stops away.
Vila do Conde has a few interesting museums relating to its history and development. Lots of opportunities to walk, a number of beaches and plenty of restaurants and bars, a great place for a short break in the sunshine.

The places we liked most in Vila do Conde were: a) the top of the hill with an old monastery and the 16th century aqueduct (2nd longest in Portugal), with a great view of the historic center; b) a truly wonderful restaurant -- REPUBLICA -- at 83 Praca da Republica, both food and service were great, and the interior is very pleasant; and c) within a 3-minute walk from the restaurant the Naval Construction Museum and a replica of a ship outside from the Age of Discoveries.

This is more of a guest house .
This is more of a guest house . It is above a bistro, There was no breakfast and when bistro was closed no one to provide assistance. The location is excellent across the street from the river with access to walk to shore. Staff was friendly and helpful when available. We chose it as it is on the coast north of Porto and close to the airport. Room and bed were small, but comfortable. We stayed only one night so it met our needs. Interesting town to explore.

Great little town, seems to have a lot to offer if you like quiet little towns. Not too built up, nice small town feel to it. We didn't have time to explore much - yet - but will definitely come back
This is a very lovely hospitable place to stay..
Meire......the lady that looks after the house was absolutely lovely and made me feel so welcome.
The house has some wonderful facilities and is only a five minute walk from the beach. This is an ideal place to stay for singles or couples. I Was made to feel very at home here and met some really nice people while I was there. The location is fantastic and the people of Vila do conde are so nice....
Will definitely be back in October......i:)
Thank you for a wonderful stay....
Very smart stylish hotel , with super friendly, multi lingual staff. It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to be . The room was basic but spotlessly clean, the air con was excellent. Breakfast was very European but nice , with fresh breads and pastries each day and lots and lots of bacon ! There was hot water and fresh drinking water available 24 hours a day . Guests were a mix of European holiday makers and Portuguese business travelers.
The photos on the website matched what we got
Loved this hotel; would happily have stayed more than one night. Clean, spacious room with a good-sized modern bathroom, and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in for a long time. The hotel was a very quiet and relaxing place to be. The rooftop bar has great views over Vila do Conde, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a very good selection of food for breakfast. The hotel is very conveniently located for anyone doing the camino.
Great place for an overnight duting the Camino Portuguese, bunk beds are not too close, space to wash/hang clothes to dry, excellent buffet-style breakfast, for an albergue/hostel, absolutely worth it. The only point is that they don’t cater to Pilgrims necessarily, check-in is also late after 4 PM and breakfast starts at 7:30.
Lovely spacious apartment very close to the sea. It is not a staged Airbnb but rather living like authentic Portuguese do. Margarida and her mom who greeted us at the check in and came at the check out were such a delight and sooooo helpful!! Meeting people like them reminds us why we love Portugal so much! Muito obrigada!!
Everything was excellent. Room really luxurious, clean and spacious. Staff very helpful. Location a little bit away from the centre of town. Walkable during the day but needed a taxi at night. Although hotel is on a main road it was very quiet inside and we were not aware of it at all.
Nicely designed and comfortable rooms. The hotel is located a bit out of the center of town, but it is still in a good location (we were walking the Camino). Nice restaurant downstairs where you can get a glass of wine and a snack and have a good conversation with the owner. Good atmosphere.
The breakfast was lovely and the hotel spotlessly clean. The customer service was outstanding. All the staff couldn’t do enough to help us and were so attentive to my 3 small children. I loved the fact the pool and gym were open 24/7
They were very welcoming and kind. We asked for a table outside during the check-in and they prepared it for us just before the dinner time, it was lovely. I liked the people and the food as much as the hotel
Beautiful room. The staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel is family owned and started in 1911. The bed was very comfortable and the room very quiet. It was a very nice two night stay. Highly recommend.
It was more like a hotel than a hostel. What a beautiful place to stay in. Even prepared breakfast for me to go as a pilgrim. Loved the building, rhe colorful living room. Highly recommend.
It was an amazing hotel. We went for business, but I could easily choose it for holidays as well. Excellent spa, with high esthetics. Spacious room with all comforts.
Beautiful a bit over budget for Portugal but was beautiful the surroundings are amazing. They need to change the pillows as they were not comfortable at all
