This place is wonderful. It exceeded our expectations. The continental breakfasts were wonderful. The rooms were perfect and clean. We were really impressed with the staff--especially the manager. He knew so much about the Island and happenings around town. Plus he was so willing to share this will us! There is a lovely area out back of the hotel where you can sit and chat with friends. This hotel is less than a 3 minute walk from town. We were more than pleased with our selection to stay at 76 Main Street.
Located alongside the Nantucket Harbour, this hotel boasts an on-site spa as well as rooms with scenic waterfront views. Boutique shops and art galleries are within 10 minutes’ walk.

Definitely recommend Gail’s Tour, wonderful way to see the island and learn it’s history. Whale museum is a must, attend the presentations. Best restaurant for us was the DUNE. Born & Bread for Breakfast. So many eateries to choose from. We went in early May and no crowds.

We walked a LOT around town and the historical homes of Nantucket, which was good for us. Anyone with instability or bad joints would not enjoy the walking. We didn't have time to see more of the island and didn't know exactly where to go or how to get there. It was COOL and windy in late April. We liked our cottage at the boat basin.

A very special island off the coast of New England.
A very special island off the coast of New England. More than 60% is land trust and the rest is super expensive beautiful 19th century homes. There is plenty to do such as swimming, surfing, hiking, and biking. The shoulder season i.e. May, June, September, and October is magnificent and a good value. There are nice B&Bs in historic houses as well as hotels. There is a nice variety of excellent restaurants. A good candidate for your bucket list.

Nantucket is a great place to spend a day or a week.
Nantucket is a great place to spend a day or a week. There are many great places to dine or have a drink. We didn't go to the beach this time but we have in the past and they're beautiful. If you're on a tight budget you may want to find another option or just go for the day.

This was our first trip to Nantucket (even though I'm from New England!). We explored the island by bike. There are dedicated bike paths but not everywhere so you do end up riding on the tar road. Island traffic seems to be used to bikers, though; they even stop for you when they don't have to according to traffic laws: better safe than sorry but a bit annoying for experienced street bikers (we live in the Netherlands). Beware of biking routes (via Google) that send you via Main Street — this is full of old-fashioned cobblestones that cannot be ridden with a bike!
Being an island, many restaurants are quite expensive, but not all of them are worth the money. We particularly enjoyed the Nantucket Tap Room and Ventuno. or, The Whale is popular but the tin ceiling plus music plus limited menu with no subs is frustrating... and breakfast places that offer 'standard' fare are hard to find. There's a surprisingly large Stop 'n Shop in the harbor as well as on the other side of town.
We stayed Mon-Fri, which was enough time to see the entire island by bike. We biked to the Cisco Brewery but the tour is $20pp so that explains why some bikers have to be picked up instead of biking back to the harbor!

We took the "slow ferry", no car.
We took the "slow ferry", no car. We booked a van tour with Gail's Tours for the first afternoon. She hit the highlights of her island, providing an entertaining narrative of the island's history and inhabitants. We found plenty of things to do and see within walking distance of our hotel. The Whaling Museum was a recommended stop that I'm glad we saw. Just walking through the village was wonderful. So much history! One day we took the bus to Sconset, did the Bluff Walk, and took a walking tour with Rick through the village of historic homes. If we were here longer than our 3 days we would have liked to explore more of the island outside the main town. It was recommended to get dinner reservations, which we neglected to do. So, after the first day, we booked dinners for the rest of the trip. We ate at the Tap Room (sea bass was excellent!), the Sea Grille (blackened tuna was terrific) and Brotherhood of Thieves (clam chowder--best we've had!) We traveled in the shoulder season and avoided the crowds, but missed out on the places that weren't open yet. We traveled pre-Memorial Day, the weather was on the cool and windy side, so we never got to the beaches. Next time!
Our family of 3 (two adults and a toddler) had the most amazing long weekend in Nantucket thanks to The Carlisle House. Jeneane was a wonderful host; welcoming and resourceful. She greeted us most mornings at breakfast and engaged our two year old in some friendly banter, so we could get a few bites of our breakfast in. Our room, Nantucket Suite, was the perfect size for our family and we enjoyed the perk of our own entrance and private outdoor seating area. We simply loved it all and will be back for years to come! :)
The people are amaizing at Hotel Pippa. The staff was friendly, informative, helpful beyond the call of duty and always willing to help with anything we asked for or needed.
The location is pretty much perfect. You are in the heart of everyting but just off the main drags enough not to have difficutly with noise, etc. The continental breakfast was good to have! Food provided was great.
The White Elephant Residences is located walking distance to almost every great restaurant in Nantucket and is situated in the heart of the city. The service is impeccable and everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay special - especially the manager Alice, who is always thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable of the area. This includes Brandon Grill - great Sunday brunch!
Amazing location!!! Within walking distance of everything.
We had the Mary Starbucks suite and that room was huge and on the first floor which I needed since I couldn’t climb stairs.
I asked for a space heater since I was chilly and they didn’t have fleece blankets (October) so that was disappointing, but the breakfast and architecture made up for it.
Love Nantucket.
Gayle and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room at The Periwinkle had everything we needed with plenty of space for 2. The location could not be better; right near downtown Nantucket but far enough away to be quiet in the evenings. We highly recommend The Periwinkle if you're planning to stay anywhere near downtown. - Phil and Carol
I absolutely love the location and very friendly staff. Monica is the best! Our room was huge, had a comfortable bed, and was beautifully decorated. The hotel has a very nice outdoor sitting area and widow's walk with spectacular views of the town. It's a beautiful property!
Fabulous decor, super-comfy rooms and the most
wonderful staff who manage to get that mix of
professionalism and friendliness just right - this is our
second stay at a Life House hotel, the other was in
Nantucket and the staff there were wonderful too
The White Elephant is an elegant, charming, sprawling hospitality center very near the heart of Nantucket. It oozes style and is ideal for those seeking luxury and comfort. The Brant Point Grill is an asset to the overall property.
The overall service and breakfast was spectacular. The property was close to town, clean and very accommodating to our group. I would highly recommend seven seas to anyone heading to Nantucket. We look forward to going back.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I also liked that the hotel was in an old Victorian house with funky furniture that somehow all worked together. Location was definitely a great feature. Easy walk from the ferry.
This hotel is absolutely fabulous! The hotel staff, restaurant staff and bartenders are all wonderful. From Sam at the bar, to Bobby in the restaurant, we had the BEST holiday weekend. We will be back 100%. 6 Stars!
Location was great for access to downtown and an easy walk from the ferry but just beyond the crowded streets and it was very quiet. The seating on the patio was very comfortable and convenient.
Anchor inn is just like home from home. Had a family atmosphere and Nate would always help you with any problems or information that would help your stay be perfect.
