Great location, parking and breakfast are included. Great shower, coffee machine, good size bed
Solvang is pretty and green in the spring. The summer will be hot and dry! Even in March, many tourists were in town. The unfortunate side effect is that some local restaurant staff could be a LOT nicer.
Vin & Mad has an incredible dinner for us! I recommend this restaurant but be prepared for stairs and an uphill if you are traveling with someone that may have limited mobility.
Breakfast can be challenging, long waits even in the off season.
Parking can be a challenge for those with mobility issues as well.

Cute little Central Cal town where studio writers for LA go...
Cute little Central Cal town where studio writers for LA go on retreats, and throngs of tourists visit the O.G. Danish-looking town. The architecture is different than anything in CA, and there is a labyrinth of shops and restaurants to explore. So many great options peppered with wine tasting and beautiful vistas nearby. Dolce Café has amazing coffee and a unique menu of baklava, breakfasts, sandwiches and ice cream. Peasant's Feast came recommended by Michelin and went above and beyond. The Coyote Creek Inn serves as a wonderful wedding venue. But mostly, getting lost in the alleyways around town is always so much fun!
Solvang is a great stop between LA and San Luis Obispo. Two nights in perfect, three if you wanna move more slowly.

Fantastic, quaint little town in beautiful countryside.
Fantastic, quaint little town in beautiful countryside. Every single person we met in town was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The town itself is extremely pet friendly and tourists everywhere has their dogs with them.
Very big and clean room. King size bed. Pool was clean and warm and right out the sliding glass door at the rear of the room, which was really convenient and nice.
No soda machine. The check in staff was friendly and efficient.
Literally a 5 min walk to downtown Solvang.
My only real complaint is that my room and I assume the rooms that face the main road into town is EXTREMELY noisy at night and even worse early morning. No sleeping in.
I would stay again but request a room in the center court or rear of the Inn.
There was no breakfast included so I cannot comment on that question. Location was a little off the Solvang strip but it was still walkable, although we did not because I had a walker-dependent family member with me. It may have helped with the quiet at night not being at the center of downtown Solvang. I like that we were able to wash our clothes and laundry soap was complimentary, among other things. Manager Stephen was quick to address the two issues we did not like.
I very much enjoyed the modern look to the design and paint job. Some of the local hotels need to update their paint jobs in order to compete. The balcony area was secluded and peaceful and larger than the typical balcony. 1st time there and I'll definitely return. Fairly priced. Solvang prices have increased over the past 10 years but this place is fair. Awesome staff.
Our king bed room 17 was beautiful bright modern and very comfortable. The double queen beds room 1 was beautiful and cozy with the cutest porch. Both rooms were neat, clean and tastefully decorated. Check in and check out was a breeze and the location was perfect. Close enough to walk to downtown solvang but away enough to get peace and quiet when you want to relax.
The fellow at the front desk was very helpful. The room was VERY clean, comfortable, and large. The towels were fluffy, the bedding was cozy. It's right in the middle of town, so we went out to eat and did lots of window shopping. We really enjoyed our stay, and would love to visit Solvang, and stay in the King Frederik, again.
nice old building, well decorated. excellent location, close to everything in Solvang. parking close to the hotel is very easy. Free bottles of water available everyday, and one nice bottle of wine offered in the room. Reasonable price for the area.
Nice studio with everything you need to spend a couple of days in beautiful Solvang. Parking is included next to the cabin. Close to the main street and all restaurants/bars. Thoughtful hosts ;)
Highly recommended!
Location was amazing - right in downtown Solvang. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool and hot tub are a plus because it gets hot in the summer. Free Danish pastry breakfast! Loads of parking on site.
The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. l loved how close it was to downtown Solvang, I just wish that the shops would have stayed open later. Our room was very quiet
Room was clean and comfortable. The location was central to the downtown area. They delivered breakfast to your room to accommodate all guests during the pandemic.
The M Solvang is in an awesome location. You can easily walk downtown. The gardens and flowers surrounding the buildings were beautiful! Towels were great!
