We had a good-sized room with comfortable beds at the end of a corridor on the 6th floor which meant that we were not disturbed even though it was the busy Christmas period. The location was convenient for the town. We would definitely stay there again if visiting our relatives in Montclair.
The front desk stuff Gabriel scammed our credit card for not...
The front desk stuff Gabriel scammed our credit card for not authorized amount and refused to reverse the charge, claiming even he did it by mistake, only the manager has capacity to return money and promised it will be fine the “following morning”. We chased them for few days, manager never materialized at work, Gabriel repeatedly told us he wasn’t able to get in touch with him (Kwaku Debrah manager’s name). We called fraud department on visa (they returned the wrong charge today, on Friday) the front desk stuff Gabriel and Annalisa changed the story from “punching wrong button” to they “charged us lawfully for the stay”. They even produced fast cooked invoice with absolutely new numbers which don’t correspond with neither what we paid for hotel while booked it, nor with wrong charge Gabriel did the night of checking in. Avoid this hotel. Grand Wilshire was real Grand property yet few years ago. It changed drastically. The slope started before pandemic and only deteriorated since to become worse than the side road motel, where you don’t want to give your credit card out of fear to be scammed. Manager - is never there, or hiding, stuff is so unprofessional that leaves you speechless, rooms are rundown, heating/AC is broken, no hot breakfast… the list is going on. All the inconveniences, out of order room phone, etc is still something you can deal with, but criminal activity at the front desk - it’s unacceptable and requires attention of authorities. I am sure we are not the first people they tried to scam. Possibly that they target the out of country travelers only, whom is very inconvenient to chase them.

As I said, this was the worst hotel experience of my life.
As I said, this was the worst hotel experience of my life. Our room was not cleaned for the entire 3 days we were there! After the first whole day I was told that the rooms were cleaned every 2 days. Imagine my surprise when on returning to the room on the third nite I found another dirty room!!! My husband asked to be put into a clean room since the majority of the parking lot was empty so clearly other rooms were available and was told its not your 'policy' to do that. Well, my policy is to never ever stay at one of your hotels again.

There are plenty of stores in proximity to the hotel making it easy to get what you need! The amc theater with dining is a great option as well. We didn’t stay in west orange a lot because our activities were elsewhere, but it was a nice location to get away from the Jersey hustle and bustle.

What I like most about West Orange, is I grow up in the area. It has always been a great place to live and visit. The malls are not too far also i't only abut 40 minutes to hour away from New York in traffic. Which I don't mind. I usually eat at Olive Garden, My activities are near the Zoo and I like the old historic settings.

West Orange has varied locations to enjoy.
West Orange has varied locations to enjoy. Historic Thomas Edison home and lab, South Mountain Reservation is great for outside recreation. Eagle Rock Reservation has multiple groups September 11 memorial statues overlooking several towns out to NYC skyline.
I liked how big the property is. there was a wedding but I heard no noise. The staff is really accommodating. They have snacks and drinks in the lobby and the free breakfast is cute. I loved the size of the room’s especially the bathroom. it was a cold night and heat was working well. bed was comfortable. I’m actually returning this weekend again bc I come visit my boyfriend and he works in the area.
I love the property manager there, I believe her name is Tawanna. She makes you feel as if she’s your family member. The entire staff was a blessing to me n my family. I have visited the property in March, April, and now May. I just got back today from visiting my family in West Orange Nj
We stayed in Wiltshire Grand Hotel dozens of times before pandemics. I liked this property a lot, although noticed that starting 2018 it slowly deteriorated. Last time we stayed there before pandemic started was exactly 2 years ago, December 2019. Still was decent with few exceptions.
A Great hotel at a reasonable price, The staff did everything possible to accomodate us. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean. And tge Beighborhood is safe with a couple restaurants in walking distance.
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The room was very large and inviting. The breakfast was excellent with VERY helpful staff. We'd definitely return and recommend the hotel to others/
The hotel room was very clean, as well as other locations in the hotel. (Elevator, lobbies, hallways, and the property surrounding the hotel. The staff was very helpful and extremely polite
The King size bed room was nice and big and had a funky design (the wall paper). The TV was nice and big and HD quality. It appeared to be a new(ish) hotel so everything was clean and new.
