It has retained old world charm and has no desire to be a destination for the smart set. Staff are lovely, even putting our picnic for the next day in the fridge overnight. The gardens are beautiful, we really enjoyed walking around them. Perfect for Glyndebourne.

Breakfast was a delight, with lots of local produce and eggs from the property's own hens. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable, with beamed ceilings (tall people need to mind their heads!). There were some lovely touches - luxury toiletries, gorgeous towels, courtesy chocolates. Best of all was the host who was extremely welcoming and made my stay feel a home from home.
