Staff were very friendly and helpful. Stored our luggage until check-in. Room was nice size and bathroom was awesome! Location was very convenient to Howies's (for dinner) and to Hop-on Hop-off bus stop. Staff booked a taxi for us. Breakfast was delicious! Loved having a dram of whisky in front of the fireplace in the lobby.
The Golf Tavern is in an excellent location for an overnight stay. There was a good choice for dinner and the food was well cooked, plentiful and great value. Breakfast was even better. Best of all the staff - genuinely friendly as well as being efficient. We would happily stay there again
The guest house was quite cozy and well-kept. It is in a fantastic location and close to the main attractions. Aliya (the host) was highly receptive to my text messages from the beginning of our 3-night stay. She always ensured that we were as comfortable as possible during our stay. Additionally, we tried to make sure not to damage the property and leave it as it was. Overall, it made our trip to Edinburgh memorable and was a really excellent stay. Thank you, Aliya! God bless you💕
Ali and his wife made us very welcome. They were most pleasant and helpful. The guest house is conveniently located near to the inner city, and there are 2 pubs and a restaurant only minutes away. It is an older building and has steep stairs. The price is very reasonable.
The staff was simply awesome. Very friendly, helpful, open, perfect in all ways. The lady recommend us at the beginning what to do and where to go. The breakfast was simply awesome. The Guest house was quiet clean very nice. This accomodation exceeds my expectation and it was a jewel on the crown of our Edinburgh visit.
The staff at the Guest House and in the Tea Room are wonderful, very polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel more than welcome. The Guest House has a lot of character and our room was very comfortable, spacious and immaculately clean. We travelled to visit the Rosslyn Chapel, which is amazing, and the Guest House is a very short walk away. We had dinner at the Pub across the road, which was also excellent. Overall we had a great stay, and I would have no hesitation in recommending people to stay here.
historic inn, unique location
The staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing and the dinner menu provided a delicious choice of dishes in the characterful dining-room of this historic inn. Definitely a stay to remember.
Rustic well presented guest house Could do with a few upgrades here n there but otherwise really nice
For the price we paid (around £55 for one night), we expected the Innkeeper's Lodge to be fairly basic, but it was anything but that! Our double room was spacious and overlooked the Firth of Forth - in fact, it was virtually underneath the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. The evening meal was superb too. We expected standard pub grub but the dining was of a far higher standard. I would definitely consider staying here again.
