We really enjoyed our stay in Onyado Nono. It’s a full tatami Japanese style hotel with onsen very close to Kyoto Station. There are so many perks of staying here, like free massage chair, free hot drinks (latte, etc), free ramen every night, free refreshments after onsen (ice cream & yakult drink). The onsen is amazing and they also have an amazing japanese buffet breakfast. Imagine endless ebi tempura, ebi furai, gyudon, and kaisendon. I can’t say enough good things about Onyado Nono and we’re definitely missing it already

Easy to get to hotel from Kyoto station. Near Keihan train line (can take it to Osaka one direction, Gion the other) and several bus lines. Free drink (still and sparkling water, flavored soda, coffee, tea) dispensing machines and microwave on the ground floor in dining area. Two washer/dryers (800 yen per full wash/dry). Front desk and cleaning staff were super, although English was minimal. Good internet. Opposite seven-eleven. Long but doable walk to temples. Quiet. Snazzy (and standard) Japanese toilet :)

Our stay at the Temple Hotel was so much more than we hoped for. Our hosts were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The experiences on offer gave us an insight into Buddhism, temple life, traditional food, and culture. Everything was of the highest quality and thoughtfully provided. It was easy to catch the train there, and Ayabe is a delightful place after the busyness of Kyoto. We would definitely recommend staying here, and hopefully, we can visit again one day.

Great location near Nijo Castle and with a bus stop just beside. Good public bath, excellent value breakfast (cheaper through booking.com). Clean, comfortable and modern rooms, big enough by Japanese standards. We originally booked 4 nights and extended our stay by 2 nights- also cheaper to extend using booking.com (!!) - so much to see in Kyoto and around! We paid $75 per night including breakfast for the second booking (a little over $100/night for the first booking), excellent value.

We had such a wonderful stay in Goco Hotel. We booked the smallest room and for us it was clearly enough. The hosts are so kind, always welcoming and happy to answer your questions and to give recomendations (restaurants, locations, etc.). Free water and coffe in the entrance. If you need an umbrella, they can borrow you one as well. Location is fantastic, we visited most of the places on foot. If we come back to Kyoto, we will not hesitate to stay in Goco Stay again.

My family's first trip to Japan and our first ryokan experience. This not a business hotel with all the associated business amenities. It's more like visiting friends or family. The owner and his family operate this ryokan. It seems to be a very genuine experience. A performance by one of Kyotos maikos was an exceptional cultural immersion. It was an enjoyable stay and a great base-location in Gion for exploring Kyoto. Enthusiastically recommend.

Everything! This was by far the most value for your money place we stayed in our entire trip of Japan. The room was small but cozy and comfortable, the whole hotel is really beautiful and calming with quite a few places to sit and enjoy a wine or a coffee. The staff was kind and helpful and we really enjoyed the women’s baths and all the cleanliness and amenities there. Beautiful experience! I would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Kyoto!

We loved this hotel. The location was excellent. The staff was so helpful. Most of all they had a "livng room" with free coffee/tea, a microwave and a long dining table/chairs and a couch and many reference books about Japan and Kyoto. It was so easy to order take out across the street and bring it back to eat here..cheaper and quicker on some days. Also, the amenities were amazing. A whole set of shelves with anything you might need.

Hotel is extremely close to the Kyoto Station and that's why I chose to stay here in the first place. If you wan't to make day trips to various destinations, this is a good hotel. Room was comfy and clean, nothing particular to write home about. Hotel staff was very polite and took care of our baggages while we were checking in and out. Met my expectations. great place to stay if you are in Kyoto and want a place close to the station.

When it comes to location it was great as we could reach main station, main shopping area and Gion all by walking in around 20 minutes. And it sometimes easier in Kyoto to walk instead of taking crowded bus. Hotel provided all required things. The room was just enough for 2, of course with luggage under the bed. We did no decide to breakfast option, as there is a very good place near hotel with cheap Japanese breakfast sets.

Love the free coffee, sake and amenities offered here. Everyone was so helpful and felt like they wanted to help you. Hotel was located nearby eateries so walking was no problem. Local bars nearby as well as their own. We didn't get a chance since we were always coming back late from the day. I would totally look this location again the next time I'm in Kyoto

The Hotel is really clean..cleanliness deserved 100%..very strategic location as it is so near to subway station which is abt less than 100m away…my kids love the double decker room so much..TQ SO MUCH for providing us such a lovely stay in kyoto n will definitely recommend my Friends and family members who will be visiting kyoto ☺️

- Very central, close to Sanjo Station (metro/trains) to reach main touristic attractions in Kyoto and surroundings like Nara, Uji, etc. - Neighbourhood full of restaurants, shops, convenience stores - the French bakery just next to the Hotel :) - the size of the room was decent and little bigger than in cities like Tokyo

Most of it! Happy to have a big TV that you can screen mirror your phone. And can see how long the laundry facility be available thru the tv as well, saves you time from going up and down to check the laundry area. Friendly staff, very clean facility. Hotel provided umbrella as it was raining so much when we visited Kyoto.

It just took 5 to 10 minutes walking from Kyoto station to the hostel. Staff is very kind and with great hospitality. Feel free to ask staff for laundry services. They provide laundry machine outside the hostel, and it just need a few of 100 coins for laundry. Worth to visit and stay at Hana Hostel next time.

Excellent location next to Hokan-Ji. 10 min walk to Kiyomizu temple and Yasaka jinja. 5 min walk to ninenzaka and sannenzaka. You’re basically in the heart of ancient Kyoto. Bathtub and footbath were amazing. The little garden oozes traditional Japanese culture. Having a washer dryer in house was a huge plus.

Thank you so much for the nice stay. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. All the space was clean and furnished really well. Hotel is near train station and bus stop. We can honestly recommend Minn Gion and I’m sure we will reserve room the next time in Kyoto.

The facilities provided by Hotel Excellence were truly excellent! The walking distance to Kyoto station was very convenient. The room and bathroom were exceptional clean, and the best was the breakfast and all-day beverages provided. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Excellence when in Kyoto.

EXCEPTIONAL ROOM & STAFF!! Hotel Emion Kyoto was modern, beautiful and family friendly. Our room was really bright, clean & tidy and the rooftop lounge was breathtaking!! Wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again for future visits to Kyoto ♥️

Location- Excellent location with good restaurants near by. Hongan ji temple is right next doors. Hotel provides shuttle service to the Kyoto station which is very welcome. The hotel has soothing interiors and calming water bodies. Lovely restaurant for breakfast.
