Featuring a terrace and views of city, ibis Styles Chaves is located in Chaves, less than 500 metres from Chaves Thermal Spa. The renovated building was lovely.certainly the best Ibis we have stayed in anywhere. Central location easy parking on street. Staff were excellent. We completed a 6 day drive on the N2 road from Faro to Chaves and decided we needed 2 nights to relax. This hotel is amazing value and this ancient Roman spa town was worth staying in for sure.Be sure to check out the archaeological dig site in the town museum.

The 3-star Hotel Albergaria Borges provides modern accommodation in Chaves, just 1.5 km from the city. Incredibly attentive staff. We are travelling with a baby and the staff preemptively helped us all the time without us even asking. They put us in a room at the end of the corridor so we wouldn’t disturb other guests, helped run food to my husband from the restaurant as he stayed in the room with the sleeping baby, and had a table ready for us at breakfast in a separate to the other guests. These actions just took all the stress out of our stay and shows how attentive the staff are to the customers and do things without it even needing to be asked. Thank you so much for the team to make it a hassle free stay.

Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden and views of lake, Belas Vistas Hotel is set in Montalegre, 24 km from Carvalhelhos Thermal Spa. Arrived super early but room was ready so let me check in. Off road parking within the grounds for motorbike and able to park at rear out of sight although it’s a quiet place, beautiful views, good breakfast and room was very spacious clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Nearest super market was around 11km away. Petrol station just up the road and there’s a restaurant around 1.5k or so up the road that does lunch and evening meals.

Loved absolutely everything from this place. the bedrooms are cozy and extremely clean, we loved the hight ceilings and the italian shower! the best part is definitely the host! She was so nice with us and served us amazing breakfast! we loved her marmelade and orange cake that she made, it was delicious. the breakfast is surely the hightlight as the view in the morning is beautiful and so calm. i would recommend to everyone to stay at least 2 nights!

We had an amazing three night stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it! It is a small property with only a few rooms so everything is very clean with high attention to detail. The breakfast was very good and had a lot of options, but the dinner was some of the best food we had on our trip to Portugal! Pedro was super helpful in providing us with information about the Douro Valley, giving recommendations for any type of interest we had while there, suggesting restaurants and calling a taxi for us whenever we needed one. The wine tasting we did at the hotel was also very informative and we loved the wine. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, thought the price was very reasonable and were glad we chose this hotel over other ones we looked at in the area!
