How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

On the expensive side but that may be because Salzburg is an expensive city
Centrally located, lovely staff, little perks like complimentary chocolate on check out I received a surprise little cake and handwritten card as my birthday was during my stay there!

Everything was fine. The family room had enough space for family of four with 2 teenagers and a dog. Parking across the street. Walking distance to must see places.

Bathroom was cramped Room was fine, but a bit dated Flat pillows (seems to be an Austrian thing)

There was no bar in the hotel, which was a little disappointing. My wife found the bed exceptionally hard, so may be something to watch out for.
The location is excellent, just across the river from the Old Town. We got a bus from St Wolfgang and it dropped us 200 yards away from the hotel, so very suitable if you want to travel to Salzkammergut. Staff were very friendly and helpful. (Breakfast smelt great every morning, but we didn’t take it. There’s a coffee shop just across the road with a range of pastries).

The mattress foam felt less comfortable due to age. Better to replace with new.

The hotel is located 5 mins from mirabelle Gardens and 2 mins from the nearest bus stop. The staff was helpful, The room was comfortable and clean. Loved our stay here and would love to come back.

Great location - easy access to Altstadt and Neustadt. Very clean room and spacious. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast and very helpful team at the reception and breakfast. Especially Sema who made sure we had an enjoyable breakfast. Will definitely stay at the hotel if I visit Salzburg again.

Make USB (USB-C as well) available for guests.
Breakfast is expensive. As it is with all hotels it is better to go out and get breakfast elsewhere, away from the torist trap areas.

Beware - laundry services at the hotel is outrageously expensive. Could have bought new items for the cost of the laundry. No items required dry cleaning.

Location could’t have been better. Just across Mirabel palace and 5 min walk to all attractions in the city. Breakfast is great.

nothing that we dont like during our stay there
We love this hotel. There is a underground garage near the hotel and hotel guest able to get a discounted price for full day parking. The hotel staff were helpful and always smile to us when we walked past the reception counter. The family room (3 bedder) was spacious and well equipped. The hop on hop off bus stop is opposite the hotel. Hotel is about (20 mins slow walk) to old town. Bakery shop just right opposite the hotel, Dm is mins away too.

The bathroom is very spacious. The room is very clean. Comfortable beds even with comfortable and firm extra bed (there are three of us in a room). There’s a convenience store right downstairs across the street - easy and quick breakfast option with pastry, bread and coffee. Also there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
