Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaNo free wi-fi. Az least not one I could get to work.
Nice modern hotel. Great location. Right next to the Salzach river (my room actually had a view onto the Salzach and Salzburg old town). Close to the Hauptbahnhof, close to main points of interest. Old town is a little (but nice) walk from the motel. All in all a nice place, if a little pricey (but the. everything is in Salzburg) I didn‘t have breakfast, didn‘t use the parking facilities so can‘t speak to that.

CanadaThe hotel is well located, a short walk from the train station on one side and old Salzburg. It is situated right on the river. There is a very nice pathway to use to walk to the various attractions. The hotel is modern and comfortable.

United KingdomThe hotel itself is about a 10 minute walk from Salzburg's main train station. Excellent if you ate travelling in to Salzburg from any other European destinations. The lobby and bar/restaurant area are both spacious and have a lovely view of the river, which is a nice walk and about a 5/10 minute walk from the Mirabell Garten or in to the main centre of Salzburg. The room itself, although on the slightly smaller side does have enough room for you to store all your lugguage. The room comes with a safe for storing those items you need to keep safe on your holiday. The bed was super comfy and the tv had access to a lot of English speaking channels, which was handy on a night time before dozing off. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff at their friendliness and happiness to help with any questions. The brekfast also offered is a continental style and offers lots of different options.I would absolutely stay here again. Also, look out for The Sound of Music Mural at the top of the street near the flats as you leave the hotel, it's great.

United KingdomIt’s time the pillows went in the bin and the pictures on booking.com indicated we would have a room overlooking the river, however we overlooked the back of some buildings so were a little disappointed. That being said we weren’t in the room for very long so wasn’t the end of the world.
Good location, short walk from the centre, quiet, along the river, warm and cosy, good hot showers, comfy beds, helpful and friendly staff.

United Arab EmiratesDiscovering Salzburg's Best-Kept Secret: My Experiences at Motel One Repeated stays at Motel One in Salzburg have consistently reaffirmed my affection for this establishment. It's a place where the passage of time is gracefully defied, thanks to the diligent efforts of the management to preserve and enhance its charm and functionality. The lounge area is a masterstroke of hospitality, offering a warm, inviting ambiance that seamlessly blends relaxation with productivity. It's my preferred spot for both focused work sessions and engaging meetings. The hotel's strategic location is another feather in its cap, placing the enchanting Old Town just a leisurely 10-minute stroll away. What strikes me most during each visit is the genuine warmth and promptness of the staff. The check-in process is always a breeze, marked by smiles and professionalism. The rooms, a sanctuary of tranquility and cleanliness, boast beds that cradle you into a serene slumber and windows that frame captivating views of the city. Motel One, in my eyes, is Salzburg's hidden gem, offering an experience that far exceeds its modest pricing. It's a rare find in a city known for its allure, providing a harmonious blend of comfort, convenience, and exceptional value. For anyone seeking a memorable stay in Salzburg, Motel One is, without a doubt, a choice that promises satisfaction and delightful surprises.
