Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaWell, the bathrooms are shared, even through there were three of them on the floor, I normally had to wait in the mornings. However, that's not the fault of the hotel, but of inconsiderable people spending an hour in the shared bathroom. I would also love to have some shower gel/shampoo in the bathroom
Awesome place, the design, the rooms, tea, coffee, plates all available, the cleanness, the bathrooms (even the soap was nice), there even was a heater in my room! The pub downstairs also looked awesome, I just didn't have an opportunity to eat/drink there

ColombiaThe doors are very old and the doors grinded all the time, which made sleeping difficult as my parents went to the bathroom frequently at night. I guess it's something easy to fix.
The staff is amazingly friendly and kind. The location is perfect! They also had a coffee station with excellent coffee quality :)

New ZealandRealised we were staying above a pub, but didn't expect there to be music until after 1am on a Thursday night.
Easy walking distance to the Harbour area, Botanical Gardens and all the art galleries. Generally very quiet part of town. Nicely decorated and felt like you were stepping back in time or visiting an elderly relatives welcoming house.

CanadaThat there will be more gentrification in the neighbourhood and it will be difficult to get a room in the East Sydney Hotel.
Its great location- museums, parks, gardens, restaurants and public transportation are all within a 5 minute walk. It has managed to maintain its charm from glamorous times gone by. The room was comfy and very beautiful - filled with antiques and great details. I really liked the self service tea and coffee bar in the hallway. The bathrooms are squeaky clean and the shower heads have great pressure. The popular pub below provides delicious food and great entertainment on the weekends. The staff is friendly and kindly kept our luggage before our evening flight.

United StatesMemory foam mattresses are pretty cheap nowadays, so the mattresses at the hotel could be upgraded at a low cost. Otherwise, everything was just what I needed.
The location is right next to the Domain which is absolutely beautiful. I went for a jog every morning and loved the location. The hotel is a very cool old-school hotel with a lovely Irish pub downstairs. The staff at the bar/hotel were very friendly. The room is a great value. It's not a luxury hotel obviously, so don't expect more than a basic room with a reasonably comfortable bed. There was always a bathroom available, so not having one ensuite was no problem for me.

AustraliaThe traffic noise. Its an olive's old hotel and the windows don't block the traffic noise. My little ear plugs weren't high tech enough to block the noise.
Such a cute lovely hotel and it's a great location except for the traffic noise.

AustraliaThe bedroom I stayed in didn't have an air con (this is stated in the room's description). I knew what I paid for, but I'll put it here anyways for them to consider an upgrade.
The location was excellent, within a short walk from the train station. The staff was extremely helpful, even with our late check-in. It is an old building, but the bed was super comfy, and the bathrooms were new and clean. Recommended.

AustraliaIt would have been great to have aircon, as it was quite stuffy and there wasn’t a breeze but that’s ok. There wasn’t a breakfast that I was aware of…and the water station didn't have water
Loved the location. Super quiet even though it was in such a central location. Loved the beds, such comfy pillows.

AustraliaMy windows were right on Crown Street, which is a very busy throughfare. Luckily for me, during my stay there Crown Street was blocked off at Oxford St, so It was ok. The pictures of the room were much improved on the actual room, so it appeared much larger than it really was.
All staff were very friendly and helpful and the room/facilities were very clean.

PolandThere was no air conditiong in the room, only a fan that was noisy during the night - it was the main downside. For that price, in such a wealthy country and hot climate air conditioning is a must! Also the beds are too small for a tall person, but for 2 nights it's ok nevertheless. Generally, it's not a hotel but rather a hostel - no cleaning, shared bathroom
Friendly stuff, exceptional location, clean accommodation, overall good experience
