How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I was playing pool with a friend and felt quite unsafe as a result of the bar staff continuing to serve drinks to a group of men that were clearly drunk… slurring words and unable to walk in a straight line. Appalling, irresponsible serving of alcohol. We left as a result of feeling unsafe.

I tried numerous times to turn off the heater/air conditioning. We managed to turn the temperature down but would have preferred it off altogether.
Beautiful, spacious room. Very comfortable. Also had a delicious meal at the hotel.

The room needed a table and chairs. There was plenty of space. The more comfortable couch should be in front of the tv. We would have liked to be closer to the beach and shops but we could walk to town but it was a bit far at night.
It was spacious and having a separate living and bedroom was great. It was well located centrally. It was pretty quiet considering it was in a hotel and near a highway.

The dust in the room and especially under the beds and couches, was not vacuumed properly. Would benefit greatly from a thorough clean. If it was clean to my standard, I would have given a 9/10. Was otherwise good.

For the massive space that’s provided the kitchenette could be bigger. The size of it could be doubled and they could have a microwave as well.
The space was massive, clean and incredibly comfortable.

No towel rails in the bathroom. They are helpful if hotels want guests to reuse towels. Power points near to the bed please! Room service would be a good idea.
A very comfortable and spacious room with everything that I needed. I liked that a light, in-room breakfast was included. The location was excellent for my needs. Free onsite parking is a bonus.

The check in process, front counter was not attended, sign said to see bistro staff but nobody was in the bistro area either so we endured a bit of a wait until someone arrived.
Great price, location to the attraction we were attending ding, good size room for a family of up to four.

Doona too short for doona cover. Heater didn't work very well. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up. Dressing gowns too ichy.

The room looked like it has been recently renovated. It was large in size and very clean and tidy. There were supplies for a light breakfast provided in the room which was a bonus. The room was functional and good value for money.

We had dinner downstairs and it was a pretty noisy atmosphere, not very relaxing and hard to hold a conversation, we ended up putting our food into takeaway containers and going to our room, disappointed later that there was no microwave in the room to warm our food up in

The spa bath was fabulous. The room was large and had plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable. Was able to get a good value meal for dinner in the Bistro and the continental breakfast was also a plus.
