Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThere was a little problem with a noise in the bedroom when the people in the house next door (also with the same owner) used the bathroom. The owner was good to deal with and will hopefully resolve it for future guests.
There were lots of nice touches in the house which made our stay more comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable.

The house was perfect, it was very clean and looked amazing! The bed was very comfy and the shower as well! And the kitchen had everything we need. Plus the owner was very kind and helpful! We are definitely coming back to the little houses.

United StatesThe entire house was exceptionally clean! Although it is not a huge property, the owner Frank has thoughtfully used all of the space available to make sure that guests have everything they might need. He was extremely responsive and easy to deal with via text / WhatsApp. The location is great - there is off-street parking readily available just down the street, and we could leave our car there to walk into the lovely little town of Malmedy over the picturesque bridge and only 5 mins away. There were plenty of restaurants in the square and streets leading off from it - and it’s only a short car ride to the circuit at Francorchamps too.

IrelandEven though our booking for two nights was non-refundable, we were not able to stay because we could not find any parking. The place is advertised as including free parking and when inquiring about the location prior to our arrival, I was told that there were a few places above the house and "if there aren't any above, there's always room below". When we arrived, all the spaces in the tiny car park below the house were taken - so much for "there's always room below". Further up, there was no safe parking space either. There was building work going on in the street with long planks of wood being carried across the road - something that did not instill confidence in us that our car would survive the stay unharmed. When I rang the owner from outside the house to inform him about the situation, he was insistent that there were spaces further up the road and this had never been an issue. Our concern regarding the safety of the car fell on deaf ears. This was, however, not the only aspect on which we felt misled by the information on booking.com. The pictures of the Hautes-Fagnes apartment show a downstairs room flooded with sunlight whereas when we took a look inside (we had been provided with a door code), we had to turn on the lights because there was absolutely no natural daylight - and this on the brightest of days. Furthermore, even though the booking offered the use of a bed and a sofa bed, when double-checking that the sofa bed was available, we were informed that it was but it was going to cost an extra 15 euro (in the end, it was agreed that we could bring our own bedclothes). We travel extensively and this was the first time that somebody was looking for payment for something that was advertised as part of the package. Finally, the night before our arrival, I saw that there were four missed WhatsApp video calls from the owner within 15 minutes.

BelgiumThe Little Houses is a cosy little get-away. There’s everything you need in the house and it’s located a short walk from the centre in a quiet street. Frank greeted us on arrival and was always available if anything were needed.
