Positive section of review
Brilliant location for avoiding the noisy tourists. Fifteen minutes walk to majority of places of interest. Lovely local restaurants and bars. Very quiet street easy to navigate to and from. Very clean and well appointed apartment, fantastic showers and kitchen. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning works well.

Nothing to do with the the Petrin Tower Apartments. This is just a general warning for Prague. Watch the local supermarkets for overcharging. We went to two local supermarkets for provisions and were seriously overcharged at the first one because we hadn't fully grasped the currency rates. It wasn't until we'd got back to the apartment that I realised I'd paid nearly £40 for about £15 of shopping. When we went to a different one later in our visit I added up the total as we filled the basket. Once again when the cashier gave us the total it was 100% more than it should have been. When I questioned the total he scanned everything again and came to a different total but still 150 crowns over price. He scanned a third time and this time the total was 8 crowns over price. When I queried it yet again he showed me on the fridge a small sign explaining that chilled beer carries an extra 4 crowns per bottle surcharge. Two bottles = 8 crowns. No apologies for trying to rob me and much umbrage that I'd refused to be ripped off. I'm not saying it's a racial thing but both of these shops were operated by Eastern enterprises.

Charles Apartments in Old Town

The location was amazing - right on one of the main old town paths between the astronomy clock and the Charles bridge. We opened and sat in the window and people-watched which was a lot of fun! Easy to get anywhere in the old town.

The mattress was hard. It was a little uncomfortable to sleep on. Could have used a couple more pillows.

The check-in was ok. They had a digital check-in which we tried, unfortunately at the end of the check-in it charged us the full price when we had already paid up front. After that we were helped at the desk which was ok.

Unfortunately we had to leave the hotel 2 days early due to an emergency situation at home. I understand hotels can't just refund all customers. But I never got any response or messages to address my situation or any communication at all on booking.com This is weird because during checkout the personnel said the hotel manager would contact me for a solution. I sent two more messages asking for any response I was never contacted by the hotel.

There is a lot of light coming through the windows and not real way to make the room dark if you want to sleep in. Walls are thin, not much of a problem for us, but probably was for the neighbours

Location and accommodations good, but very unfriendly staff at reception. They are not willing to help if something went wrong. I made parking reservation at office, but then something was wrong with parking card. Then happened that I need to pay parking again in parking garage. After I complain, they just telling me that everything was made ok from their side. I was charged with app 80 eur more.
