The hotel is a beautiful space in terms of decor, art and design. The staff were friendly and helpful. It felt almost as if we were staying in a home, rather than a hotel. The breakfast (which was complimentary) was excellent and the food in general very good. Having not travelled to Johannesburg very often, I appreciated the shuttle service from and to the airport.

Houghton Place is a lovely landing spot for a solo traveller whether on business or leisure. The kind hosts Sam and Janice are wonderful and their two doggies are friendly. You feel at home in Sam and Janice's home. I would definitely recommend Houghton Place if you are looking for a spot in the suburbs of Jozi.

The locations was great, 2-3 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront. Staff were very helpful friendly, they do a great job.

The property was dated and didnt feel relaxing, i was working so i was out most of the time but i would have been dissapointed to have visted this as a tourist. seems to need a few restoration and update.

Upmarket apartment with lots of extra luxuries as advertised on profile. Beautifull view of ocean.

Keys were not available on check-in time. Swimming pool and outside area not cleaned before check-in. No bedding available at check-in time. Internet connection out of order. Outside lights not working. Parking space in front of another house's garage - not safe and far from apartment. Had to leave the keys the following day for maintenance.

The location and view is nice and staff was friendly.

I booked an apartment with a balcony because I'm a smoker but wasn't allowed to smoke on the balcony, not even in the parking area. I spent the night smoking in the braai area without a roof and sitting on a wet cement bench. This place is a smoker's nightmare! I also had to pay an additional R1000 breakage deposit on arrival that was not on the advert, nor did anyone tell me in advance.

The unit wasn't very clean. Freezer hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. The towels had dirty marks on them. The single beds were very uncomfortable, all the springs were broken
