This isn’t a criticism, as we have stayed in cave houses before and knew it was likely to be on higher ground and not centrally located in the town. It is just an observation to anyone that may be unfit or not so mobile - it is a 5/10 minute downhill walk into town, which obviously means an uphill climb on the way back!

We loved the whole feel of the place. It has been very lovingly decorated and furnished. We particularly liked the outside area with table and chairs, a couple of sun beds and the hot tub. The owner was incredibly helpful, answering any questions and offering lots of advice for places to visit and things to do. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a couple of days away. We visited in the height of the summer, hoping it would be cool inside and we weren’t disappointed, it exceeded our expectations in that department - we even managed to sleep under the quilt at the end of July!! We enjoyed our stay very much and would thoroughly recommend this beautiful cave house

The Cave House was amazing. Fully furnished with everything we needed. And even though it was a cold night outside, the house was very warm and comfortable. And Karen was very friendly and welcoming. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Probably the road up to the cave house , narrow in parts especially with our Dacia duster ! A smaller vehicle would have been less of a problem

The quirkiness of the cave house, quite unique !! Karen the host was lovely, friendly , very helpful & in her words on the end of the phone if needed ! Very comfortable, slept well ! Loved the peace , tranquility & the hot tub a great bonus ! We enjoyed a lovely tranquil retreat to unwind ! Just perfect for us !! Highly recommend Karen & her cave house !!

Authentic village cave house experience with everything you might need, in a very compact dwelling!

You have to take it as it comes, as a cave house. For example (in addition to the wifi issue mentioned above) you can’t put loo-paper down the toilet, and it goes in a bin instead. The house is quite tiny (bijou!) so could feel cramped if staying on for a few days, though the terrace helps. Due to covid precautions breakfast was not on offer during our stay. The streets of the village are steep and narrow, so can be tricky to negotiate by car if you’re unfamiliar with the route.

This little cave house was extremely well-equipped and full of quirky decorations including Moorish-style ones. The house has everything you might need, such as a washing machine and a kitchen, including some basic supplies such as detergent which is very thoughtful indeed. It was a really interesting experience staying there, and we appreciated the cool temperature indoors during a heat wave, and slept very well in the cool, dark interior free of interruptions. Outside there is a terrace to sit on and a hot tub (we didn’t try the hot tub). The village does not have a huge number of restaurants etc. but we did enjoy a wine-tasting at Bodega Domingo y Quiles which is 10 mins walk down into the village. There is wifi but it doesn’t reach into the bedroom and nor does any phone signal, but that is not surprising given that the house made of rock! You do have all mod cons including plenty of lighting and a hot shower. We didn’t meet Karen but she was in touch and gave full instructions for arriving and checking in and out. In the house you’ll find a folder of local information and recommendations (bilingual) and some guide books in English, which was a lovely touch.
