How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only a small thing but the coffee machine in the breakfast room kept breaking and there were long queues as not enough machines.
The room was spacious and well equipped. The bike room and facilities excellent and the breakfast superb! Also, really helpful and friendly staff

Could have had umbrellas available for guests
This hotel never fails to deliver. We have stayed here previously and the facilities for cyclists are excellent with a specific allocated bike room with a bike bath, pump and tools. The room was comfortable, with a nice sized bathroom.

We were overcharged (they had added another whole breakfast and coffee on) and although it was sorted out eventually it look a while to do.
Convenient location close to historic centre of Girona. Friendly front desk staff who spoke good English. Comfortable bed, modern bathrooms with a powerful shower & spacious room size. Breakfast was great with plenty of options.

AC didn't work (or wasn't turned on yet), so room became unbearably warm at night. Opening the window was an issue as the street noise (until 4AM) was loud.
Great location, very friendly staff at check-in. Parking was a little difficult to negotiate, but was very secure and clean and easy to deal with once we were in. Would stay here again.

The rooftop patio and bar was enjoyable after a day of touring. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. High quality at a reasonable price. Girona was a nice stopover to catch a train after touring Costa Brava.

Good looking common areas as well as the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check out at 12:00 gave us a peace of mind that we can sleep a bit longer without rushing. Also, the rooftop bar is a great addition.

We were in a disabled room which we found a bit dark and bed was hard. No Kettle. Confusing whether we were in the Gran hotel Ultonia 4* or just the Ultonia 3*
Great location for exploring Girona, view of cathedral is great from rooftop bar. The girl at reception was very helpful with city map and suggestions. Very welcoming if you get chatting. Glad we stayed and not done as a day trip from Barcelona as walking the cathedral at night we had the Game of Thrones backstreets to ourselves.

Couldn't get air con to work at all so had to keep window open all night which was very noisy from street below. No free water or tea/coffee/snacks in room which is usually a given in a hotel in this price range.
Clean, comfortable twin room with comfy beds. Very nice rooftop bar with amazing views of the hills. Great location a couple of minutes walk from Placa de Independencia and red bridge to old town. Free water and luggage storage at reception.

Excellent location. Within walking distance of the main bus and train station. A 2min walk from a huge selection of coffee shops, bars and restaurants and the old town. Comfortable rooms, very clean and great rooftop cocktail bar. Staff were very professional and helpful.
